Queen Creek Top Players [player_tooltip player_id="42589" first="Hunter" last="Barth"], 2021, DB Great size, length, and frame for a safety at 6’2 200 lbs. He’s a plus athlete with good closing speed and short area quickness. Transitions well out of his back pedal and shows good change of direction and ability to break on the football. He has natural instincts and anticipation to diagnose plays and identify routes quickly and efficiently. One of the top safeties in the west with 19 offers and currently committed to Cal. [player_tooltip player_id="42788" first="Devin" last="Brown"], 2022, QB One of the top signal callers in the state committed to USC in September after collecting 10 D1 offers from some top power 5 programs including Arizona, ASU, Iowa State, Michigan State, NC State, Northwestern, and Wisconsin. Brown is a strong pro-style QB with great natural ability and arm talent. Has a great demeanor in the pocket and shows good mechanics and footwork. Love to see his patience as he goes through his progression and allows the play to develop. He has all the tools to be a successful QB at the Pac12 level with his combination of athleticism, accuracy and arm strength. [player_tooltip player_id="42591" first="Isaia" last="Glass"], 2021, OL Glass was one of the fastest rising prospect in the spring, raking up 21 offers before committing to Arizona State in July. He possesses a long and athletic frame with room to add weight. He’s quick off the LOS with an explosive first step. Natural strength and power at the POA. He’s a very good athlete that moves well and has quick feet. Plays with good leverage and finishes his blocks by driving through contact. Strong genes, his father was a defensive lineman at ASU. [player_tooltip player_id="42946" first="Porter" last="Reynolds"], 2023, LB Started every game at LB as a freshman. He’s extremely strong and physical at the POA and consistently overpowered much larger opponents all last season. Fast and relentless in pursuit he closes space quickly and makes plays sideline to sideline. He’s a sure tackler in the open field that is violent and aggressive with the ability to create turnovers. Porter picked up two PAC12 offers on the same day from Washington State and Colorado and will be one of the top LB prospects in the 2023 class. [player_tooltip player_id="42587" first="Trey" last="Reynolds"], 2021, LB The Utah commit is one of the top LB’s in the country. Great combination of size and raw athleticism. He’s a downhill LB that plays fast, physical, and is always attacking. He plays well with his eyes and shows advanced instincts and awareness to diagnose plays quickly and accurately. He’s decisive and commits to his reads that allows him to close space quickly to make plays all over the field. A strong and sure tackler both in the box and in open space. Very difficult to block with his strength and ability to shed blocks and redirect. [player_tooltip player_id="42592" first="Krew" last="Jackson"], 2021, DB The highly touted K-State commit is Prep Redzone’s #3 DB in the Arizona 2021 class and the #12 player overall. The 6’5” 200 lbs. DB with 14 D1 offers is extremely versatile with his is size, length, and speed. He’s capable of dropping back in coverage playing as a rangy safety or play in the box as a linebacker where he can use his strength and physicality. He’s a key piece to a very strong and highly recruited Queen Creek defense and secondary. Casteel Top Players Shakaun Bowser, 2022, LB Bowser has seen his recruiting stock skyrocket in recent months with some big time D1 offers coming in and many more to come. A developing young linebacker that has great physical tools to build on and elite level potential. Has good size and length at 6’4 225 lbs. with plenty of room to add weight as he grows and fills out. Great ability to rush the passer using his raw athleticism, quickness, and hands to fight off blockers. Shows good speed in pursuit with the lateral agility to play sideline to sideline. He’s a strong and physical tackler that drives his legs through contact. A name you’ll hear a lot of over the coming years. [player_tooltip player_id="42641" first="Dane" last="Christensen"], 2021, QB Had a breakout junior season where he threw for over 3,100 yards with 30 touchdowns while completing 73% of his passes in 2019 and ran for another 9 touchdowns. He’s got a lean frame with good length that allows him to sling it all over the field and at different arm angles. Christensen is a good athlete that shows good pocket awareness and mobility when avoiding pressure and also isn’t afraid to tuck it and make a play with his legs. He’s a D1 guy that would’ve benefitted from being able to showcase his skillset at college camps this off season but should see his stock rising this season. [player_tooltip player_id="42600" first="Brock" last="Dieu"], 2021, OL Strong overall frame that is powerful at the POA. He’s a high motor guy that is a violent and aggressive in all areas of his game. He shows good technique and fundamentals between his footwork and ability to effectively use his hands. Plays with good pad level and understands how to use his leverage to his advantage. Good all around blocker but excels in the run game where he can clear running lanes, effectively get to the second level, and finish his blocks. One of the top offensive lineman in the state. [player_tooltip player_id="42812" first="Bryan" last="King"], 2022, DB Another young versatile athlete that has seen his recruiting attention on the rise recently. He already has elite level size for multiple positions at the college with his 6’4” 205 lbs. frame. For the past two years, he has flashed great athleticism, body control, and balls skills as a wide receiver but has switched to the defensive side of the ball prior to his junior year. He’s a strider with good speed and quick feet, a natural athlete with good instincts and game awareness. Will be interesting to see how he develops at his new position but colleges won’t be able to pass up his size and athleticism. Fully expect his recruiting to take off if he continues on the same trajectory. [player_tooltip player_id="42594" first="Isaiah" last="Newcombe"], 2021, WR Newcombe has been on fire to start the season with a 200 yard and two TD performance last week including the late game winning TD. The UCLA commit is an exceptional athlete that is an explosive playmaker every time he touches the ball. Great ability to stretch the defense vertically using his elite speed to get over the top. Strong route runner that is creative in how he creates separation. Strong hands and natural pass catcher with plus hand-eye coordination and body control to make difficult catches. He’s dangerous after the catch with his ability to move and make defenders miss in the open field. The Queen Creek defense will need to be aware of him at all times. Other Top Players: [player_tooltip player_id="42749" first="Dax" last="Heggie"], LB, 2021; Jaxon McBride, OL, 2021; Nicholas Okolita, OL, 2022; [player_tooltip player_id="42636" first="Justin" last="Thomas"], OL, 2021
