Top Offensive Performers: Week Two

The offensive playmakers in Wisconsin absolutely went off! Wisconsin has proven over and over to be filled with college level talent and I am here to spread to film of some of this week’s top performers. Long runs, big time catches, broken tackles, and impressive juke moves litter the film of the studs in this article! So, let’s not waste any time and dive into 11 players who dominated in Week Two! Joshua Bauer, Senior QB- Lourdes Academy Offensive Stat Line: 23/27, 280 Passing Yards, 4 TDs, 5 Carries, 39 Rushing Yards, 1 TD Bauer spent last Friday proving he is one of the most prolific passers in the state. He sliced and diced the opponent for an impressive stat line and the film matches. Bauer definitely fits into the dual threat identity. He can dominate you with his arm, and when he needs to can carve up the defense with his legs. He is fun to watch! Joshua’s Week Two Highlights [player_tooltip player_id="30903" first="Ray" last="Zuleger"], Senior QB- Xavier Offensive Stat Line: 16 Carries, 230 Rushing Yards, 5 Rushing TDs Vision, speed, and agility were on full display by Ray. Even if a team doesn’t feel he fits at QB for them they should still have interest in getting this athlete on their team! Ray can absolutely fly with the ball and his vision to find even the smallest gaps to daylight are next level. Ray’s Week Two Highlights [player_tooltip player_id="31014" first="Tate" last="Huss"], Senior WR- Little Chute Offensive Stat Line: 6 Receptions, 102 Yards, 3 TDs Tate is listed at 6’1" 185, but he plays even bigger than that. His ability to make people miss jumps off the tape. Tate is very smooth in his cuts both with the ball in his hands and in his route running. It also seems like he plays at a faster speed than everyone else on the field. Tate’s Week Two Highlights Colin Girdaukas, Junior WR- Sheboygan Lutheran Offensive Stat Line: 9 Receptions, 170 Yards, 4 TDs Colin might have a permanent home in this weekly article as he is back for his second week in a row with an absurd performance! Colin has continued to prove that he is one of the better deep threats in his class and perhaps the state. He has consistently shown his pull away speed in the open field and he plays stronger than I expected both after the catch and as a blocker. Colin’s Week Two Highlights [player_tooltip player_id="30915" first="Dylan" last="Dohr"], Senior RB- Hilbert Offensive Stat Line: 27 Carries, 165 Yards, 2 TDs Dohr is a long strider, yet he still is able to maintain impressive contact balance. He runs strong and can clearly handle a large workload. Even when they know it is going to him as his offense runs a lot of direct snaps to him. Dylan does a great job of setting up and following his blocks as well. Dylan’s Week Two Highlights [player_tooltip player_id="31196" first="Grover" last="Bortolotti"], Senior RB/DB- Whitefish Bay Offensive Stat Line: 17 Carries, 151 Yards, 2 TDs, 1 Reception, 56 Yards, 1 TD Check out the burst through the gap here! It is wild to watch him run into a crowd and come out the other side on several plays. Grover has a knack for gaining a lot of yards after contact. He bounces off defenders and keeps going. He is the type of RB that offensive linemen love to block for. [player_tooltip player_id="30746" first="Jack" last="Martens"], Senior WR- Cumberland Offensive Stat Line: 6 Receptions, 94 Yards, 3 TDs Jack dominated the field on Friday night. The game plan was clearly to get the ball into his hands and let him work. He took several, almost jet sweeps, and then used his speed and elusiveness to make plays around the edge. Jack looks at home in space with the ball. He is electric and one of the more talented players in the state. Jack’s Week Two Highlights [player_tooltip player_id="30836" first="Jacob" last="Mogensen"], Senior RB/DB- Elkhorn Offensive Stat Line: 210 Rushing Yards, 1 TD, 2 Receptions, 39 Receiving Yards This kid lives behind his shoulder pads! He plays behind them perfectly. The way that he churns his legs through contact jumps off the tape. He sets the tone with his play on both sides of the ball. You add in plenty of speed and you get a legitimate D2 prospect. Jacob’s Week Two Highlights [player_tooltip player_id="31016" first="Demarion" last="Cobb"], Senior RB- Racine St. Catherine’s Offensive Stat Line: 16 Carries, 280 Yards, 6 TDs This was some fun film to watch! Cobb is electric! Every time he touched the ball I thought he was going to score, and he almost did. Demarion is a playmaker with the ball in his hands. His cuts in the hole create a ton of separation and gives him the space to hit the constant home runs he did last Friday. Demarion’s Week Two Highlights Zach Miller, Junior WR- Grantsburg Offensive Stat Line: 4 Receptions, 46 Yards, 4 TDs You can’t get more efficient than this game by Zach Miller! To say Zach has a nose for the endzone would be a bit of an understatement. Zach has the size you look for at the position and he uses it both before and after the catch. Before the catch he boxes out defenders and after he is too strong to bring down without help. Zach’s Week Two Highlights Nick Hansen, Senior QB- Marquette Offensive Stat Line: 18/22, 309 Passing Yards, 4 TD, 1 Rushing TD What a night for Nick! Whether you watch the film or just read that stat line... the accuracy is unquestionable. He showed off the perfect touch on several of his deep passes. Hansen has what you look for. The accuracy that is tough to coach, and enough arm strength to make every throw needed. Then you throw in the addition of being athletically gifted and you get an excellent performance and a legitimate college level talent! Nick's Week Two Highlights
