Every four weeks I like to take a look at the landscape of Class 4A football and come up with my own player rankings based on statistics. How I come up with my ratings is a system based on pro-football-reference.com’s "Approximate Value" system of ratings they use for overall performance during a season. For this article, I’m taking a look at Quarterbacks, where I’ll list out my top 15 Pocket QBs and top 10 Dual-Threat QBs to go along with my top 5 overall quarterbacks. *Stats are up to Week 8* #1. [player_tooltip player_id="23828" first="Jase" last="Bauer"], Ankeny, SR - 24.792 (DT) Passing: 87/134 (64.9%), 1266 yards, 19 TDs, 2 INTs Rushing: 68 att, 428 yards, 5 TDs Highest Offers - Power-5 (Iowa (PWO)) A quick word: The Hawks offensive prowess is paying out for Bauer, as he just picked up a PWO offer to join teammates Brecht and Bruce in Iowa City to go along with 5 offers from MVFC Schools #2. [player_tooltip player_id="23854" first="Aidan" last="Dunne"], Dubuque Hempstead, SR - 22.275 (DT) Passing: 90/155 (58.1%), 1247 yards, 9 TDs, 3 INTs Rushing: 91 att, 524 yards, 11 TDs Highest Offers - D-2 (Minnesota-Duluth, Quincy, Upper Iowa, Wayne State (NE)) A quick word: The 6-1 Mustangs wouldn’t be in the position they’re in without their dual-threat ace behind center #3. [player_tooltip player_id="23941" first="Lennx" last="Brown"], Council Bluffs Abraham Lincoln, SR - 18.118 (DT) Passing: 65/104 (62.5%), 923 yards, 9 TDs, 3 INTs Rushing: 81 att, 530 yards, 11 TDs Highest Offers - NAIA (Dordt) A quick word: Brown led the Lynx to their best regular-season record in years, which they hope to carve out a strong playoff run out of it. #4. [player_tooltip player_id="23839" first="Max" last="White"], Cedar Rapids Kennedy, SR - 16.257 (DT) Passing: 31/61 (50.8%), 436 yards, 3 TDs, 2 INTs Rushing: 117 att, 801 yards, 12 TDs Highest Offers - Power-5 (Nebraska (PWO)) A quick word: He’s one of the state’s most dangerous runners, as Nebraska was the school to pull the trigger and give him a PWO offer to the coach’s kid. #5. [player_tooltip player_id="23947" first="Jaxon" last="Dailey"], Southeast Polk, SR - 14.937 (PP) Passing: 79/107 (73.8%), 1085 yards, 11 TDs, 3 INTs Rushing: 29 att, 128 yards, 3 TDs Highest Offers - Power-5 (Iowa State, Michigan) A quick word: The state’s top junior signal-caller leads the charge for the dome-hopeful Rams. Top 15 Pocket Passers #1.
