St. Louis County Pre Game MVPS Week 2

Last week was an outstanding weekend full of momentous games due to the returning of St. Louis County football in the state of Missouri. This weekend will be filled with more entertaining games and mind blowing players to watch. Here are the pre game MVPs for week 8. Coming off of a loss from St. Mary’s, SLUH will have to depend on this guy to take charge on offense. The 6’2 junior has been off to a tremendous start with 98 receiving yards and 1 touchdown. Brooks will be a threat against DeSmet this Friday and a great matchup against their star defensive back, [player_tooltip player_id="37154" first="Jakailin" last="Johnson"]. <strong>RB [player_tooltip player_id="37577" first="Jared" last="Rhodes"] Ladue High School c/o 22.</strong> The Rams have a tradition of producing some the most dangerous backs in the state of Missouri. Rhodes is one of the rising stars that showed he can be a threat to defenses in the area. Weighing in at 190 lbs, the junior back was a major asset to last week’s game agains Lafayette, running for 164 yards and scoring 2 touchdowns. Rhodes was also a threat on the defensive side of the ball, catching an interception and taking it to the house.<span class="Apple-converted-space">  </span>Rhodes’s skills will be tested this Friday as he [caption id="attachment_62261" align="alignleft" width="203"]<img class=" wp-image-62261" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/redzone/uploads/2020/10/IMG_4463-e1602823232249-265x300.png" alt="" width="203" height="230" /> Photo: Instagram[/caption] faces off against a pretty tough Kirkwood defense. <strong>WR [player_tooltip player_id="37206" first="Pernell" last="Garner"] Lafayette c/o 21.</strong> The senior receiver is one of the most slept on receivers in the St. Louis County. He has been overlooked, but now he’s caught everyone’s attention. Garner is very elusive and can become dangerous whenever he has open field. Last weekend, he racked up 137 receiving yards and 2 touchdowns against Ladue High School. He is also a star on the defensive side of the ball as well, with 3 pass break ups and an interception. Garner is off to a great start this season and will catch a lot of recruits’ eyes down the road.<img class="size-medium wp-image-54251 alignright" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/redzone/uploads/2020/09/IMG-3472-300x201.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="201" /> <strong>RB Jordan Tate Parkway Central High School c/o 22.</strong> Being a monster running with the ball, Tate is not a running back to play around with. The 6 foot 190 lbs phenom has over 300 rushing yards in two games. The Colts rely heavy on him and his speed to roll pass opponents. This will be a huge advantage against Lafayette on Friday. <strong><span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>QB [player_tooltip player_id="37602" first="Duncan" last="Cloniger"] John Burroughs c/o 22.</strong> John Burroughs is known to breed power house athletes. Their junior quarterback has been a huge standout on the Bombers offense. Cloniger has completed 28 of his 32 passing attempts, throwing for 354 yards and 5 touchdowns all in one game against Priory. With a great quarterback comes a strong receiving core. The offense puts a lot of trust in Cloniger’s arm and his athleticism.
