Southeast of Saline High School kept its undefeated record intact with a blow-out win over Smoky Valley on October 16.
The Trojans have a solid senior corps that made big-yardage plays in the district win over the Vikings.
Here is a scouting report on a Trojan group that has made campus visits, but still waiting for their first offers.
Players of the Game
QB, [player_tooltip player_id="35430" first="Jaxson" last="Gebhardt"], 6’0”, 178 (Ranked No. 119) – Gebhardt is a big dual-threat quarterback. He scored five touchdowns in the win – four through the air and one on the ground. He threw for 243 yards and rushed for a 142. Gebhardt is patient and will follow is blockers in the run game, but is sneaky and can make tacklers miss. Three of his passing touchdowns went for 50-yards or more.
LB, [player_tooltip player_id="35465" first="Bryant" last="Banks"], 6’0”, 210 (Ranked No. 157) – Banks is a physical running back. He rushed for 94 yards and a touchdown in the win. He runs best when he is moving north to south, but and is fast enough to pull away from tacklers. Banks projects a JUCO level prospect who could then move to a four-year program after getting even bigger and stronger.
WR, Michael Murray – Keep an eye on this sophomore. Murray’s first two catches of the games went for 56 and 64-yard touchdowns. His first catch was a leaping grab that is arguably the best catch I have witnessed all season. He is not overly tall, but he is really quick.
The Trojans have two linebackers worthy of college looks. Junior, Matthew Rodriguez, is the Trojans leading tackler in 2020. He had seven tackles and one sack against the Vikings. Senior linebacker Tyler Breeding is not a big backer, but enjoys hitting and plays hard on every play. He finished with five tackles and two pass breakups in the win.
