Multiple players contributed in Hoisington’s 27-6 District Win over Minneapolis. That same group of players could also contribute to a college program near you.
Here is a scouting report on three of the top Cardinal performances form their road win on October 2.
Three Stars of The Game
QB, [player_tooltip player_id="35433" first="Mason" last="Haxton"], 6’0”, 165, (’21 Ranked No. 114) – Haxton has proven that he can run an offense. He is a multiple-year starter at quarterback. He has a big arm and has quality speed. His numbers were not great in the win over Minneapolis, but he showed great poise in leading the offense.
DL, [player_tooltip player_id="35447" first="Nolan" last="Wilborn"], 5’11”, 202, (’21 Ranked No. 139) – Wilborn, a senior, can anchor a defensive line. He fills gaps and is able to free up his linebackers behind him. He had four tackles in the win over the Lions. He is looking for his first college offer, if he played for a bigger high school, he would most certainly already have one.
RB, [player_tooltip player_id="35481" first="Joshua" last="Ball"], 5’10”, 180, (’21 Ranked No. 171) – Ball had a big game for the Cardinals. He rushed for 80 yards and a touchdown on offense. Ball also had a team-high eight tackles from his linebacker position. Ball would be a solid get for any JUCO program.
Two other players to keep an eye on when you watch Hoisington game films are senior Hunter Morris and sophomore Cole Gilliland. Morris had a 23-yard touchdown run and an interception on defense. He is a quality, hard-working athlete. Gilliland is a 6’2”, 205-pound sophomore, who could turn heads in the future. He has a football frame and will only get better in Hoisington’s winning program.
