While some football players throughout the state of Georgia have continued to add on to their leading statistics in certain categories, other players have overcome certain prospect’s numbers to become the new leader in the state. Players who have continued to dominate and lead the charts include that of Jabin Ford, who still leads the state in touchdowns and points, and Jake Cieply, who continues to play at a high level as he leads the entire state in tackles. Other players, such as QB, Kyle Moseley, and RB, Jessie Phelps Jr. on the other hand, have been passed on the stats charts by other players.
[player_tooltip player_id="33812" first="Blake" last="Kytle"]- (Leader in Passing) Mount Vernon
For many weeks, Kyle Moseley, and [player_tooltip player_id="34009" first="Dylan" last="Lonergan"] were at the top of the passing charts. After this past Friday, [player_tooltip player_id="33812" first="Blake" last="Kytle"] overtook both of these players, and became the new passing leader throughout the entire state, as he totaled a 1,942 passing yards over 7 games. This new status came after Kytle passed for over 290 yards this past Friday against Hebron Christian Academy. Overall, Kytle has very impressive numbers so far this season, as he has also totaled 17 passing TD’s, with an average of over 270 passing yards per game. While these statistics may be impressive, Kytle will have to improve with taking care of the ball more, and turning the ball over less if he wants to end the season with a better win/loss record to end the season. At this point of the season he has 10 interceptions, while his team is 4-3.
Narada Levett- (Leader in Rushing) Central High
As Narada Levett is the new leader in rushing throughout the entire state of Georgia, it should not be overlooked due to the fact that he leads the state by a 60+ yard difference in comparison to the number two leader in rushing, Jessie Phelps Jr. So far, Levett has totaled 1,393 yards on the ground, and averages around 7.5 yards a carry. With this, he also averages around 230 yards a game over 6 games. These yards total up due to the fact that Levett uses his size, frame, and ability to change direction to his advantage. While he may not be the fastest runner of the football, he certainly runs very hard.
[player_tooltip player_id="33777" first="Andrew" last="Douglas"]- (Leader in Receiving) Mount Vernon
Through 7 games, [player_tooltip player_id="33777" first="Andrew" last="Douglas"] has managed to snatch the Receiving yards crown from Florida State commit, [player_tooltip player_id="33861" first="Travis" last="Hunter"]. Douglas has totaled 832 receiving yards so far this season, and has a total of 6 TD’s. Perhaps one of the biggest benefiting factors towards Douglas’ success is the fact that his QB is [player_tooltip player_id="33812" first="Blake" last="Kytle"], who also leads the state in passing yards. While these two players are obviously mutually beneficial, it can easily be assumed that the team would certainly see positive results from Kytle feeding Douglas the ball more. Maybe, if he did, they would improve their 4-3 record, as well as their yards totals.
Ethan Nation- (Leader in Interceptions) Roswell High
One of the most fun statistics to follow, is the leader in interceptions throughout the entire state. While this is obviously rewarded by stellar play, there are also plenty of factors that go into this number rising for specific individuals. Ethan Nation, who has played 6 games so far this season, has totaled 7 interceptions so far, which leads the state by 2. Following this previous game, he separated himself from the pack, as multiple players have already recorded 5 interceptions. These players includes that of [player_tooltip player_id="34051" first="Aaron" last="Gates"], Melakai Tate, J’Kobe Harris, and [player_tooltip player_id="34034" first="Ayden" last="Duncanson"]. To make Nation’s total even more impressive, it can be seen that the national average for interceptions is a little around 1.
