Cocoa Is Ready For Another Run In 4A
After missing out on the 4A title game last year, Cocoa head coach Ryan Schneider and his team have been working hard to make sure it doesn’t happen this year.
Moments after the 20-14 loss to Jacksonville Bolles in a game that would send the winner to the 4A state title game, head coach Ryan Schneider and his staff quickly turned the attention to 2020.
While this year has not gone the way anyone would have liked, that burning desire to get back to the state championship still burns inside every member of this team that left Skinner-Barco Stadium in Jacksonville.
With some new faces combined with a few returnees from last year, the Tigers are indeed hungry and ready to make a move to get back to the state title game – and give this program two state titles in three years.
Cocoa is still considered a power, and while this season got off to a later start, and there was no spring or summer, the objective is still the same – and the talent is truly in place to get it done.
With the pandemic cutting into many teams across the state, Cocoa was moved back into the south this year - away from Bolles.
Schneider, who battled Covid-19 himself is healthy and ready to contend as this team will play is safe and finish off what they started last season.
The Tigers began the season with a convincing 49-0 win over Palm Bay Heritage last week - and look forward to a meeting with Palm Bay this week.
