We've updated our prospect rankings for the 2021 class here in Oklahoma. You can now check out the top 150 seniors in Oklahoma. Starting today, we'll have more breakdowns on some of those top seniors in the state. This post will take a look at five prospects who's stock is certainly going up after getting out to fast starts to the season.
[player_tooltip player_id="48802" first="Dominique" last="Dunn"] - Running Back - Mustang
We kick things off with an offensive player in Mustang's [player_tooltip player_id="48802" first="Dominique" last="Dunn"]. The one thing that Dunn and all five of our stock risers have in common is their versatility and their ability to play different positions. Dunn has emerged as the workhorse running back for Mustang and has also shown the ability to move around but still play physical football. Whether that's down as a tight end, full back or anything else. You can make the argument that on a team full of young stars, it's Dunn that is the most important piece of this Mustang team. We saw Dunn over the summer and then again in their season opener. It appeared that Dunn had not only gotten bigger but had grown an inch or two. He looks the part, he plays the part and he's certainly a prospect that is on the rise in this class.
[player_tooltip player_id="38514" first="Jayden" last="Patrick"] - Defensive Back - Jenks
Coming into the 2020 season, we were excited to see the progression that [player_tooltip player_id="38514" first="Jayden" last="Patrick"] had made at the cornerback spot. After a breakout season in 2019, we believe that Patrick established himself as one of the top corners in the 2021 class. However, similar to every other stock riser, Patrick has shown off his versatility. Not only is he still a lockdown corner, he's the top home run threat in the Jenks passing game. The Trojans just know what they're doing when they have these fantastic athletes. Think back a few seasons ago when they had Steven Parker and Dylan Harding, two of the better safeties in the state. Both ended up making plenty of plays as wide receivers. Now, the same is being said about Patrick. While we still like him as a CB, we can't overlook the production as a WR.
[player_tooltip player_id="38557" first="Luke" last="Tarman"] - Athlete - Bishop McGuinness
We'll put our hand up here. At the start of the season, we were unsure of what [player_tooltip player_id="38557" first="Luke" last="Tarman"] could be and what Bishop McGuinness would look like in 2020. It didn't take long for us to realize that McGuinness was still a powerhouse and Tarman is one of the most versatile playmakers in the state. Some of the numbers that Tarman put up in the first few weeks of the season were straight out of a video game. When it comes down to how he projects at the next level, it's as an athlete. He's a D1 caliber player and a plug and play type of guy. Find a spot that you need filled and Tarman could make plays there. While he lines up at quarterback for the Irish, there is no doubt that his top strength is tucking the ball and running. Tarman is outstanding and nobody's stock has risen quite like his this fall.
[player_tooltip player_id="38532" first="Nasir" last="Kemper"] - Athlete - Lawton MacArthur
Usually, at this point in a prospect's career, we have a preference of what we think he could be at the next level. Even if it's still up in the air, we have an opinion. With Lawton MacArthur's [player_tooltip player_id="38532" first="Nasir" last="Kemper"], we still have no idea. He's the definition of an athlete prospect as he could be outstanding as a running back or a wide receiver. North Texas got an absolute steal when they landed Kemper out of Lawton Mac. All the playmaker has done was add on to his long highlight reel from last season. Kemper makes plays from the running back spot, catching the ball out of the backfield and is an absolute weapon in the return game. While we still might be leaning to liking Kemper as a wide receiver, we can't help but be amazed at all of the production he has from the running back spot as well.
[player_tooltip player_id="38533" first="Owen" last="Ostroski"] - Defensive Lineman - Holland Hall
Similar to Patrick at Jenks, we knew that big things were coming for Holland Hall's [player_tooltip player_id="38533" first="Owen" last="Ostroski"]. After watching what the Army commit was able to do last season, from literally all over the field, and then seeing the work that he put in every day during the offseason, it was only a matter of time before Ostroski became the most dominant force in Oklahoma high school football. When you watch Ostroski terrorize opponents, it reminds us of another defensive lineman standout in this class. We consistently said that Vian's [player_tooltip player_id="38502" first="Solomon" last="Wright"] playing 2A football was almost unfair. The same can now be said about Ostroski and 3A football. Every time he steps on the field, he's a match-up nightmare. He's a big reason why Holland Hall is #1 in 3A and has only allowed 20 points all year.
