The best part is that it didn’t take long for some absolutely wild performances to be put onto film for college recruiters. To make sure that we get that film in front of as many eyes as possible I wanted to take the time to highlight as many top offensive performances as I can. Based off what we saw from week one, Wisconsin is loaded with talent and I can’t wait to get to week 2. Before that though, let’s check out who had some of the best offensive performances of Week 1!
Colin Girdaukas, Junior WR- Sheboygan Lutheran High School
Offensive Stat Line: 8 receptions, 258 yards, 2 TDs
Colin showed off a nose for soft spots in coverage and his YAC ability/elusiveness with the ball in his hands. He also is a clean route runner and gets a good amount of separation from defenders. With him just being a junior I expect us to be in store for many more weeks like this! Colin’s Week One
Jake Rockweiler Jake Rockweiler 5'10" | 185 lbs | RB Elkhorn | 2021 State WI , Senior RB- Elkhorn
Offensive Stat Line: 18 carries, 179 yards, 2 TDs
Burst and contact balance. That is what jumps off the screen instantly when you watch his week one tape. Jake is a decisive runner who hits the hole with speed and runs behind his pads. He has a very low center of gravity that allows him to bounce off hits and keep going forward. Jake’s Week One
Sam Peiffer, Junior WR- Cedar Grove
Offensive Stat Line: 5 receptions, 96 yards, 4 TDs
First of all, that is a godly TD rate! That is a nose for the endzone if I’ve ever seen one! These weren’t just easy, gimme TDs either. Sam proved that he is a sharp route runner and when he gets the ball in his hands he has the agility and speed to make people miss and then race to the endzone. Sam’s Week One
Joey Femali, Senior RB- Berlin
Offensive Stat Line: 12 carries, 78 yards, 1 TD
Joey is a hard- nosed, north- south runner who does a good job of running through contact. He runs behind his pads well and is always falling forward when he is finally brought down.
Tanner Marsh Tanner Marsh 5'11" | 185 lbs | RB Mondovi | 2021 State WI , Senior RB- Mondovi
Offensive Stat Line: 31 carries, 321 yards, 4 TDs
Tanner is a tank at the RB position. The way he plays behind his pads and is usually the one to deliver the hit to defenders is fun to watch. His contact balance is also very high for him to be able to take and deliver the hits he does yet still keep going forward. He is a playmaker when he gets the ball. Tanner Highlight From Week One
Alex Current Alex Current 5'11" | 180 lbs | RB Muskego | 2021 State WI , Senior RB- Muskego
Offensive Stat Line: 8 carries, 230 yards, 5 TDs
I didn’t think it was possible, but Alex took his absurd 2019 yards per carry average and after one week is so far well above that! This stat line isn’t too shocking though if you have watched Alex. He is electrifying. His speed is off the charts and his vision to see the gap is elite. Once he identifies the lane, his burst kicks in and it is all over from there. Alex’s Week One
Myles Burkett Myles Burkett 6'1" | 200 lbs | QB Franklin | 2022 State WI , Junior QB- Franklin
Offensive Stat Line: 23/31, 408 yards, 3 TDs
Myles looks to have taken the next step in his development at QB. He showed poise in the pocket, even when facing pressure in his face. He used his athleticism to buy more time to pass instead of taking off an running. His accuracy and arm strength look like they have even improved from last season. Burkett is going to be fun to watch week after week for the next couple seasons. Myles’ Week One
Parker Lawrence Parker Lawrence 6'0" | 165 lbs | WR Hortonville | 2021 State WI , Senior WR- Hortonville
Offensive Stat Line: 7 receptions, 203 yards, 4 TDs, 1 2-Point Conversion
Parker was an absolute beast week one! I can’t figure out how this guy has no college offers! This has to change. Parker is a quick route runner. He has the size to go up and get the ball, the hand strength to fight for it in a crowd of hands, and once he gets the ball he can turn each reception into a huge play. Parker took over their week one game and was a major reason why they pulled out the huge victory. Check out his highlights! He is a good one. Parker’s Week One
Robby Michael Robby Michael 5'11" | 170 lbs | ATH Sheboygan Lutheran | 2022 State WI , Junior QB- Sheboygan Lutheran High School
Offensive Stat Line: 13/27, 375 yards, 6 TDs, 68 rush yards, 1 TD
Robby was a monster during week one. His best traits are his touch and his athleticism. He is able to combine them into really effective throws on the run. While he doesn’t have the strongest arm he can put it right where it needs to be and when the pocket collapses he can either buy time or hurt the defense with his legs. Keep an eye on him over the next couple years. It will be interesting to see how he develops. Robby’s Week One
Drayton Lehman Drayton Lehman 5'8" | 165 lbs | WR Mosinee | 2021 State WI , Senior WR- Mosinee
Offensive Stat Line: 10 receptions, 156 yards
Mosinee used Drayton perfectly during week one. They did their best to get the ball to him quickly and let him work from there. That is where Lehman is best. When he can get the ball in his hands fast and then make people miss with his quickness and burst and then turn it into a big play with his yards after catch ability. It resulted in him being top five in receptions and yards in the state so far. Drayton’s Week One
Keaton Arendt Keaton Arendt 6'2" | 190 lbs | WR Franklin | 2022 State WI , Junior WR- Franklin
Offensive Stat Line: 11 receptions, 123 yards, 1 TD
Keaton is going to be fun to watch over the next couple of seasons. He is best when he gets the ball fast and can read and react to the defenders and blockers in front of him. He already has impressive size and speed and when the space becomes tight he can figure out ways to slip out of it. Don’t let all the short yardage work fool you though. He can easily take the top off the defense. Keaton’s Week One
