Senior RB/LB, Daylon Gordon Daylon Gordon 5'9" | 190 lbs | RB Dodge County | 2021 GA proved to be an asset for Dodge County on Friday, as he finished the game with 127 rushing yards, and 2 TD’s. While carrying the football, Gordon showed how quick he was, and that he has a unique burst that helps him to be able to get in and out of his cuts. With this, he showed that he can run for big gains, as he turns the corner very well after sticking his foot into the ground, and making defenders miss. Paired with this, he also showed that he can sift though traffic when carrying the ball as well.
Not only did Gordon show how effective he can be for his team on offense, but he managed to shine at his secondary position as well, which is LB. By the end of the game, Gordon totaled 13 tackles and returned a fumble for 99 yards and a TD. What’s not to like about that? While playing defense, Gordon showed his ability to move up and make tackles, as well as run downhill. This will certainly help his team to make key stops this season.
As the season continues, we are optimistic that Gordon, who is definitely a bit of a smaller player, will continue to play well. He may have the option to play at a smaller school by the end of the season, but ultimately, it will be his decision. It will be exciting to see what he chooses to do.
