Week 1 Game Preview: Centennial at Hamilton

After a long offseason, week 1 is finally upon us with some loaded matchups. Here’s a closer look at some of the top players in this Open Division quarterfinal rematch. <strong>Centennial</strong>: [player_tooltip player_id="42610" first="Caiden" last="Miles"], OL, 6’4” 290 lbs., 2021 – Miles leads the way for one of the top offensive line groups in the state. Very effective in both the passing game and run blocking. He shows a good quick first step off the ball with good feet and plus mobility. Plays with great pad level, leverage, and technique. The anchor of the Centennial line is committed to UNLV. He’s a plus athlete with long strides that allows him to be a rangy defensive back in the secondary and out run defenders on offense. He shows good ball skills and strong/confident hands. Projects as a DB at the next level and currently holds offers from South Dakota State, and Abilene Christian. He’s a very impressive athlete that is explosive with the ball in his hands using his top end speed and acceleration. Great vision and lateral agility to make defenders miss in open space. Committed to Army in July. Ka’vaughn Clark, RB, 5’8” 180 2023 – The young RB picked up his first offer from Nevada in the spring before playing a down of varsity football. He has a well built and compact frame right now at 5’8 180 lbs. that will run well behind that big offensive line. His balance and strong lower half allow him to run through first contact and always be falling forward. Impressive speed and acceleration once he finds space with the ability to make defenders miss in the open field. He’s a natural to the game and has very good instincts, vision, and game awareness that will help him as he develops and progresses. The lefty is a prototypical pocket passer with a quick release and great arm talent. Strong presence and mobility in the pocket with a good ability to feel and avoid pressure. He will be one of the top players in the state this year on the very strong Hamilton squad. Extremely quick to transition out of his backpedal and break on the ball. He possesses good speed with the acceleration to get to top end speed quickly. His ball skills and instincts have really set him apart.
