Phil Mafah Phil Mafah 6'1" | 213 lbs | RB Grayson | 2021 State GA – Grayson
While many feel Cody Brown Cody Brown 6'0" | 211 lbs | RB Parkview | 2021 State GA from Parkview is the state’s best back, Grayson running back Phil Mafah Phil Mafah 6'1" | 213 lbs | RB Grayson | 2021 State GA , a Clemson commit, proved this weekend that it’s him who should be on top. The big, powerful 6-foot-1 215-pounder is known for running through tackles, but he did much more than that against Collins Hill. Mafah showed off his wheels against the talented Eagles defense, rushing 23 times for 175 yards and 3 touchdowns. This game was supposed to be close, but the Rams rushing attack, led by Mafah, ran through the Collins Hill defense like a knife through butter. Through 3 games so far, Mafah has 48 carries for 471 yards (9.7 ypc) and 8 touchdowns. He’s averaging 157 rushing yards per game, and more importantly, the Rams are 3-0 and look like the best 7A team in the state.
Keith Adams – Cherokee
The 5-foot-10 200-pounder has been excellent all season, and while he didn’t light up the stat sheet this past weekend against Rome, he still deserves some credit for the win. The junior tailback went up against the tough Wolves defense but found his way to make a big impact and help secure the win. His 56-yard touchdown in the 3rd quarter but the Warriors up 14-6 and they never gave up the lead. He’s a big play waiting to happen and is set up to have a monster junior season for the rest of the fall. The Warriors are now 3-0 with a big matchup this upcoming weekend against a strong 2-0 Creekview team.
Jordan McDonald – Milton
One of the bigger, bruising backs in the state, the big 6-foot-0 215-pounder is off to a tremendous start to his junior season, rushing for 152 yards and 1 touchdown in a 29-0 win over Johns Creek. McDonald plays with excellent vision and balance. He’s tough to bring down and has deceptive speed for someone his size. He runs, hard, he can wear down a defense, and should be able to put up monster numbers behind a massive offensive line this year. McDonald currently holds offers from South Carolina, Florida State, Kentucky, among others.
MaKari Bodiford – McEachern
The Indians have a future star on their hands in freshman back Makari Bodiford. At 5-foot-10 190-pounds, Bodiford already has good size and he just started his high school career. He also just finished the game of his life, rushing for 3 touchdowns against rival Marietta. Bodiford has raw strength and does a great job of moving the pile and picking up yards of contact. He’ll be a back to keep an eye on for the next few years.
