The highly-anticipated matchup between Gunner Stockton Gunner Stockton 6'1" | 220 lbs | QB Rabun County | 2022 State GA and Brock Vandagriff Brock Vandagriff 6'3" | 200 lbs | QB Prince Avenue Christian School | 2021 State GA on ESPU did not disappoint, and it was Stockton’s Rabun County Wildcats who came away with a big 38-31 win. Stockton looked like one of the nation’s top 2022 prospects, moving the ball up and down the field with both his arms and his legs. The future South Carolina Gamecock threw for 173 yards and two touchdowns while rushing for another 173 yards and three touchdowns. He got the Wildcats off to a big lead early on, and then won the game with a long 32-yard touchdown pass to seal the victory. Look for Stockton to put up monster numbers again this year as he tries to break the state passing record over the next two years.
AJ Swann – Cherokee
After an up and down season opener, the 2022 gunslinger came back in a big way over the weekend, throwing for 367 yards and 4 touchdowns in a 41-20 win over rival Sequoyah. Swann has now thrown for 523 yards and 5 touchdowns after the first two games. The big 6-foot-2 190-pounder has led the Warriors to a 2-0 record, but he’ll have some tough games over the next few weeks. If Swann continues to play like he did Friday night, he’ll have more schools start to show interest. He’s a D1 caliber prospect and he proved it this weekend.
Malachi Singleton Malachi Singleton 6'2" | 210 lbs | QB North Cobb | 2023 State GA – North Cobb
He may not have lit up the stat sheet, but the 2023 superstar QB led North Cobb to possibly the program’s biggest win this past weekend against the mighty Buford Wolves. Singleton is a true dual-threat quarterback who ran through the Wolves over the weekend. He threw for 175 passing yards and one TD while rushing for 93 yards and another touchdown. Singleton looks like a future SEC-caliber QB and will have the offer sheet to prove it sooner than later.
Sam Horn Sam Horn 6'4" | 190 lbs | QB Collins Hill | 2022 State GA – Collins Hill
After a giant week one performance, the junior QB from Collins Hill found the end-zone three more times over the weekend against Sprayberry. He showed great pocket presence and good arm strength throughout the game. He made plays with his feet when he needed too, but the live arm is what stands out the most. He only threw for 202 yards, but he threw for three scores and came away with a 34-13 win.
