Scouting Report – Cashion

Cashion took on Thomas on Friday night in a top 5 matchup in Class A. They came out and took command early and put Thomas away 28-7 thanks to a spectacular team performance. In this game, a number of players for the Wildcats stood out to us. Here are Cashion’s top performers from Friday night. [player_tooltip player_id="53306" first="Ben" last="Harman"] - Quarterback/ Linebacker - Class of 2022 When you see a player listed as a QB and LB on a roster for a small Class A school you typically picture (or at least I do) a big brute of a runner like Tim Tebow, Blake Bell, or former Iowa State QB turned LB Joel Lanning. That is the not the case though with Cashion QB [player_tooltip player_id="52273" first="Ben" last="Harman"]. At 5’11" 160 Lbs. Ben looks more the part of a typical pocket passer and that is just what he showed us on Friday night. Harman finished the night with 269 yards passing and 3 touchdowns through the air but also shined on defense with a handful of tackles in the run game. Though he had 2 interceptions in this game that were more on the side of bad decisions whether than talent or ability related, Harman showed some great timing and anticipation on posts and slants in this game. Harman is only a Junior right now that we are excited to see grow and develop for this Cashion team over the next two seasons. [player_tooltip player_id="38609" first="Caden" last="Harrell"] - Running Back/ Linebacker - Class of 2021 Speaking of big bruisers who dominate with their physicality, let’s talk about [player_tooltip player_id="38609" first="Caden" last="Harrell"]’s night. Harrell was an absolute powerhouse on both sides of the ball in this game as he finished with 63 yards and a TD rushing on 13 carries to go along with 11 tackles and a couple of sacks. On Offense, Harrell bulldozed over Thomas all night and showed some impressive contact balance for a back his size. On defense, however, Harrell had a big night and showed a lot of division 1 LB qualities. He displayed great play recognition and closing speed to make the play no matter where it was on the field, and he shed blocks with ease all night long. Harrell is currently number 18 in our rankings of 2021 LBs, don’t be surprised if he moves up with a season full of games like this. [player_tooltip player_id="53308" first="Brexten" last="Green"] - Wide Receiver/ Linebacker - Class of 2021 Continuing with the theme of players who shined on both sides of the ball in this game, we have to highlight [player_tooltip player_id="53308" first="Brexten" last="Green"]’s performance. Green was one of 3 Cashion receivers to finish with over 75 yards as the Senior caught seven passes for 98 yards on Friday night. Additionally, Brexten was a big contributor to Cashion’s dominant defensive performance as they held Thomas to 83 yards rushing as a team on 34 carries. Green recently received his first offer to play at SWOSU on September 19th. With more games like this he will definitely gain more interest from coaches at the next level. [player_tooltip player_id="53312" first="Mason" last="Manning"] - Wide Receiver/ Defensive Back - Class of 2022 Manning is the second of the Cashion WRs with big nights against Thomas. Manning scored a touchdown on 66% of his catches on Friday night as he caught 3 passes for 76 yards and two TDs. Manning had a great night production-wise in this matchup and also had an incredible highlight-reel touchdown on his third and final catch in the 4th quarter where he broke a handful of tackles and ankles on his way to the endzone. [player_tooltip player_id="53321" first="Jacob" last="Farrow"] - Linebacker/ Defensive Lineman - Class of 2021 As we have mentioned, Cashion had quite the night on defense against Thomas and [player_tooltip player_id="53321" first="Jacob" last="Farrow"] certainly helped their cause. Farrow played on the D-Line and at Linebacker and wreaked havoc at both positions as he was seemingly in on every tackle when Thomas decided to run the ball. Farrow is beginning to get some well-deserved attention from colleges in the area, so look out for this game wrecker to receive an offer or two by seasons end. [player_tooltip player_id="53320" first="Landon" last="Lagasse"] - Wide Receiver/ Defensive Back - Class of 2022 [player_tooltip player_id="53320" first="Landon" last="Lagasse"] is the third and final receiver we will hit on that had a standout game against Thomas. On the night, Lagasse caught 3 passes for 80 yards and a touchdown. While his catch to TD ratio isn’t as high as [player_tooltip player_id="53312" first="Mason" last="Manning"]’s ridiculous 2 for 3, Lagasse still had a hell of a night in the receiving game. The season is still young, but so far Cashion looks like the real deal with weapons such as Lagasse all over the field on both sides of the ball.
