Oregon’s Best Defense Selected- All Classes & Classifications

If I was selecting the best athletes to put on the field within the state of Oregon, these are the individuals I would choose on Defense. Players will only be listed on one side of the football and they can be from any class or classification level.  Athletes currently playing out of state can be named as well.   DL [player_tooltip player_id="28695" first="Nate" last="Rawlins-Kibonge"]  6-7 250 Sr. Jefferson 4*  (COMMITTED: Oklahoma)  One of the best players in the nation at his position for his class. His ceiling is limitless especially if he is only focused on one sport. DL [player_tooltip player_id="28711" first="Carter" last="Neuman"] 6-4 230 Sr. Sheldon 2* (COMMITTED: Air Force)  I think Air Force got a steal with his commitment. Neuman earned 1st team all conference honors last season but is just coming into his own on the defensive side of the ball. DL [player_tooltip player_id="28707" first="Mitchell" last="Duea"] 6-6 235 Sr. West Linn 3* (OFFERS: Air Force, Northern Colorado, Georgetown, Bucknell)  Duea is all of 6-6 and a multi sport standout. He earned all conference honors on both sides of the football as a Junior and has the potential of blowing up on the recruiting front with a good season. DL [player_tooltip player_id="28839" first="Jordan" last="King"] 6-3 210 Jr. Central Catholic 3* (OFFERS: Central Michigan) Not exactly sure what position he will play at the next level. He is one of the most versatile kids in the West. Earned All Mt Hood honors helping the Rams to a state title as a Sophomore. NT [player_tooltip player_id="28735" first="Brody" last="Reese"] 6-3 295 Sr. Century 2* (OFFERS: Northern Colorado, Valparaiso) Reese is one of the top wrestlers in the nation and an absolute force on the interior. Look for him to add a handful of D1 offers before he is done. OLB [player_tooltip player_id="28699" first="Patrick" last="Hisatake"] 6-5 235 Sr. Westview 3* (COMMITTED: CAL) Hisatake looks the part and then some, but he really hasn’t had a chance to prove it on the field. His ability to play DB with his size speaks to his overall versatility. OLB [player_tooltip player_id="28835" first="Emar’rion" last="Winston"] 6-3 220 Jr. Central Catholic 4* (COMMITTED: Oregon)  Most are aware of the success within the family. He has the size and all of the tools. It will be interesting to see how that translates at the next level (Lamar). LB  [player_tooltip player_id="28832" first="Lamar" last="Washington"] 6-4 210 Jr. Jefferson 4*  (OFFERS: USC, UCLA, Oregon St, Nebraska, Cal, Kansas, Nevada) Such an impressive kid. The #1 basketball player in the state. The question becomes what sport does he pursue at the next level. Great film moving incredibly well for a big man. LB  [player_tooltip player_id="28712" first="Bryan" last="Cuthbertson"] 6-0 250 Sr. Sherwood 2* (OFFERS: Portland St) My favorite to earn Oregon 6A Defensive POY honors. The hardest hitter in the state. He alone is worth the price of admission on a Friday night. LB  [player_tooltip player_id="28696" first="Keith" last="Brown"] 6-1 220 Sr. Lebanon 4* (COMMITTED: Oregon) The #1 ranked LB in the nation at one point. A lot will be determined at the next level as 5A competition is not a good barometer. Very impressive on the camp circuit. LB  [player_tooltip player_id="28714" first="Colt" last="Musgrave"] 6-2 215 Sr. Bend 3*  (COMMITTED: Idaho) I think the Vandals may have gotten the steal of the year when all is said and done. Has only played a few games at LB and looks incredibly fluid. The name Musgrave speaks for itself. LB  [player_tooltip player_id="28716" first="Dyami" last="Rios"] 6-2 210 Sr. McNary 3* (OFFERS: Idaho, Army, Air Force, Georgetown)  Potentially one of the state’s all time leading tacklers. Outstanding kid and student (4.0). Possesses good size with impressive instincts and anticipation at the position. LB [player_tooltip player_id="28726" first="Tyeson" last="Thomas"] 6-3 200 Sr. 6-3 200 Sr. Lakeridge 2* - Another kid who’s stock has risen rapidly. Currently playing at Del Valle HS in Texas. From a projection standpoint I could see him adding multiple D1 offers. DB  [player_tooltip player_id="28723" first="Andrew" last="Simpson"] 6-0 165 Sr. Mountainside 2*  One of the most underrated players in the NW. Someone I would consider a Metro League POY favorite. Had one of the best games I have ever seen from a HS athlete, beating #1 Tigard last year in the playoffs. S  [player_tooltip player_id="28831" first="Trejon" last="Williams"]  6-0 195 Jr. Jefferson 4* (OFFERS: USC, Wash, Penn St, Ariz St, Oregon St, Cal, Wash St, Colorado, UNLV etc..) Oregon’s #1 ranked athlete for the 2022 class. Unreal DB with god given instincts. Another kid who could thrive if he focuses solely on football. S  [player_tooltip player_id="28846" first="Cole" last="Prusia"] 6-2 185 Jr. Tualatin-  One of the fastest rising prospects in Oregon for his class. Expect him to have a monster season for the T-Wolves, earning all conference accolades as a Sophomore. UTIL  [player_tooltip player_id="28786" first="Justin" last="Hughes"] 5-8 165 Sr. Mountainside- If Hughes was 6-0 he would be playing PAC 12 ball. Hands down one of the top athletes for his class in the entire region regardless of size. UTIL [player_tooltip player_id="28845" first="Royce" last="Fasel"] 6-0 200 Jr. Glencoe- 1st team all league kid on both sides of the football as a Sophomore. One of the top RB’s in the state, but most likely projects on D. A kid too good to be left off this list.
