With that said, we are going to take a look at the top skill position players from as many districts as possible in the state before fall camps begin.
Some of these players are already receiving college interest, while others are looking to catch the eye of that right coach.
Marcus Morgan Marcus Morgan 6'2" | 180 lbs | QB Iowa City West | 2021 IA – Iowa City West
Several schools – both football and baseball – are trying to secure the signature of Marcus Morgan Marcus Morgan 6'2" | 180 lbs | QB Iowa City West | 2021 IA .
The Iowa City West quarterback is coming off a junior season in which he threw for 1,723 yards and 11 touchdowns, adding 143 yards and two more scores on the ground.
Morgan completed 142 of 231, averaging 12 yards per completion and throwing just four interceptions. He also caught a TD pass.
Henry Clymer Henry Clymer 6'3" | 195 lbs | QB Washington | 2021 IA – Cedar Rapids Washington
To make a deep playoff run, Cedar Rapids Washington will need Henry Clymer Henry Clymer 6'3" | 195 lbs | QB Washington | 2021 IA at his best.
Clymer, a Class of 2021 prospect, threw for 1,370 yards and 10 touchdowns last season, adding 129 yards and a score on the ground.
He completed 158 of 245, averaging just under nine yards per completion and recording a 111.5 quarterback rating.
Raph Hamilton – Iowa City High
It was a productive 2019 for Iowa City High quarterback Raph Hamilton.
Hamilton completed 53 of 116 passes for 766 yards with four touchdowns. He averaged 14.5 yards per completion for a quarterback rating of just over 101.
On the ground, he ran for 343 yards and score four times.
Tan Nguyen – Des Moines North
While we await an update on Des Moines North and other schools in the DMPS, we have to keep giving those seniors some headlines.
Tan Nguyen ran for 612 yards for the Polar Bears a year ago, scoring four touchdowns. He averaged just under five yards per rush, adding five catches for another 49 yards.
On defense, Nguyen was in on almost 20 tackles including four for loss.
