COVID-19 concerns wiped out two games for the Patriots, but they have stayed resilient and composed thru it all. The best team in North Dakota right now got challenged last week against Minot but should have the upper hand in this week’s home game against the Williston Coyotes. They were in an even worse situation playing their first game this week for the first time since September 4th, almost 30 days removed from their significant loss to Bismarck Legacy.
The Patriots feature Kansas State commit Andrew Leingang, the top overall prospect in the Class of 2021 rankings by us at Prep Redzone Dakotas, but he is certainly not all they have on their roster. We dive into the hotbed that is Bismarck Century, who has won three of the last five state titles in North Dakota’s top division. Let’s first dive into the file of the Patriots.
THE PATRIOTS FILE

10/16- vs. Bismarck
THE PROSPECT LIST
These are the names you need to know from the Patriots on the recruiting trail, as there is a lot of next-level talent on this roster from the #1 team in North Dakota.
QB
Noah Schaffner (2021)
Schaffner gives the Patriots a solid rollout and throws type of prospect at quarterback. Schaffner is well built yet has above average mobility at 6’5 220. Schaffner Is at his best in the 12-17 yard range as far as his best throws. He needs to develop less height on his deep ball.
Brady Dahl (2022)
No Tape Available.
Parker Neis (2023)
RB
Cade Garcia (2021)
Garcia is the staple to this Patriots offense. Cade’s vision is excellent in between the tackles. Garcia doesn’t have a big burst to his game, but if you need 10-12 yards consistently, he will get it for you. Garcia landed his first football offer on Wednesday, bringing the love from the University of Jamestown, who was firing on all cylinders in the Dakotas to start the week.
Franck Oronendji (2021)
Seth Nelson (2022)
Peyton Arndt (2023)
FB
Jaden Braun (2022)
Braun is everything you ask for in a high school fullback. Standing at a hefty 6’2 235 pounds, Braun is a great blocker and, with Garcia’s outstanding vision, is a solid one-two punch in the backfield. You see his speed shows up more as a linebacker, but don’t think Braun can’t cut his own when he gets the football.
WR
Colton Schulte (2021)
No football tape, only hockey tape.
Ian Ely WR/DB (2021)
Ely is one of the top wide receivers on the Patriots roster. Ely’s film might show off more of a defensive back prospect at the next level as he uses his excellent field awareness to make a big play. Ely has a quick acceleration when he’s moving with the football in his hands.
Connor Trahan (2021)
TE
Hunter Harvey (2021)
You couldn’t ask for much more out of your blocking tight end than what Harvey gives you every Friday night. This kid finishes blocks to the last possible level possible. Even when he’s done blocking you, he goes down to the ground level to make sure you don’t think about going anywhere.
Thomas Jeske (2022)
OL/DL
Andrew Leingang (2021)
Blocking against Leingang is what I would call very unfair if I am any defensive linemen in North Dakota. Leingang has so much density in how he blocks it’s like putting the average person against a Wildcat (hence the reference). What impressed me most about Leingang is how quickly he gets to his blocks as his footwork is what I call model-like, and If I am a young kid that wants to play North Dakota high school football someday, I am watching how quick his feet are. Kansas State commit and the #1 overall ranked player by Prep Redzone Dakotas.
Brennen Bohl (2021)
Lucas Schweigert OL/DL (2022)
Besides Leingang, Schweigert is the second most physical linemen on the Patriots. Gets out in front and pull blocks very well. Schweigert is a prospect you think he is much taller on tape than he is. The Patriots can’t be worried when Leingang graduates because this Schweigert will be rock solid and was first-team all-state as a sophomore on the defensive side of the ball.
Carsten Irgens (2022)
Tristan Wilson (2021)
LB
Alex Schmidt Alex Schmidt 5'9" | 157 lbs | WR Jenison | 2021 MI OL/LB (2021)
It would be scary to think that Schmidt plays on the Patriots’ big offensive line and plays linebacker as well as that’s a lose lose situation for the opposing offense and defense. This prospect can hit a gap with his great vision thru the tackles. Schmidt also is a very patient tackler and won’t hit the gas pedal until he knows he has a play on the ball. The biggest question? Where the heck are the offers, as Schmidt is offerless at this point via Twitter.
DB
Brock Johnsen WR/DB (2021)
Kicker
Paul Osmond (2021)
