It’s always good to see top talent, especially when it’s athletes from across the entire region. Over the last two weeks, Best Coast Showcase hosted two very successful events in Las Vegas and Reno, with 700+ athletes in attendance. Nationally ranked kids littered the fields, with forty+ 3*’s and double digit 4*s.
That being said as three of Oregon’s top 2021 QBs represented well for the state in Vegas. The trio headlined an impressive QB group with multiple Pac 12 and D1 offered athletes leading the way.

COMMITTED: Colorado OFFERS: Boise St, Fresno St, Nevada, Montana St
One of top dual threat athletes anywhere in the country for the 2021 class. Carter recently committed to Colorado and will play football and basketball there. Very few kids have the ability to play both at that level, especially with the time commitment it takes as a quarterback
People knew Carter was special from a young age, starting at QB as a freshman, for one of the top programs in the Northwest. This past season he was clutch throwing 23 TDs/ 2 INTs, for 2,767 yards, and hitting on 66% of his passes. The Tigers were the #1 ranked team in the state, before being upset in the 2nd round of the playoffs by Mountainside, and finishing (10-1) on the year.
It’s hard to put into perspective how rare it is to have a kid play Pac 12 ball in hoops & football. Whether it’s him dropping 40+ per night on the basketball floor, or doing an acrobatic dunk, the kid is unique and incredibly talented.
Two weeks ago in Vegas he separated himself once again, throwing darts all night long, and more then looking the part. The 3* QB could very well add his fourth star shortly, and play early in Boulder. When all is said and done look for Drew to be considered one of the top overall athletes ever to come out of Oregon.
[player_tooltip player_id="28720" first="Blake" last="DeBisschop"] 6-4 180 West Linn 21’ https://www.hudl.com/profile/3267895/Blake-DeBisschop
DeBisschop took limited snaps last season playing behind 6A state statistical leader Ethan Coleman. That said as the 2* national recruit projects at the D1 level, even without the film. Blake hit on 73% of his passes (28/38) throwing 3 TDs/ 0 INT’s. Watching him play Central Catholic in the state quarterfinals you would have thought he was the guy all year long.
This is a unique case with DeBisschop bringing an arsenal of talents to the table, including size, genes, and the state’s best coach in Chris Miller. Many remember Bobby Debisschop as being a standout for the Ducks back in the day, catching 56 passes for 734 yards and 6 TDs during the 1985-1986 seasons.
Blake has a whip and put his arm on display a few weeks back in Vegas. He looked as good if not better than most all other QB’s, including the Cali kids. I currently have DeBisschop ranked the #3 QB in the state for the 2021 class, behind Carter and Oregon St commit [player_tooltip player_id="28702" first="Sam" last="Vidlak"].
It wouldn’t surprise me a bit to see DeBisschop leapfrog Vidlak from a recruiting standpoint before all is said done. Look for his stock to skyrocket once he gets a few games worth of film.
[player_tooltip player_id="28762" first="Jack" last="Artman"] 6-2 180 Clackamas HS 21’ https://www.hudl.com/profile/7205163/Jack-Artman
When you do this long enough there are certain kids who you just have a feeling about. Artman is that guy for me. Much like DeBisschop he played backup behind one of the state’s best in Austin Atkeson.
Jack is in a good position to showcase his skills with talent all around him. Before last year’s debacle Clack was (26-1) the two seasons prior. He will have the luxury of distributing to 3* 2022 WR [player_tooltip player_id="28838" first="Miles" last="Williams"] (Offers: Oregon St, Nevada), [player_tooltip player_id="28778" first="Nick" last="Kennewell"] 21’, and [player_tooltip player_id="28866" first="Josiah" last="Manning"] 22’.
Artman is an impressive baseball player as well where the Cavs also excel. His performance In Las Vegas was noteworthy, along with his confidence and overall demeanor. With continued progression, and real game time experience, you can expect Jack to have Clackamas back in the conference and state title hunt.
