Overview
On Friday, August 14th, I headed to St. Charles to observe Legacy Sports Performance’s workout. Head trainer Bryce Biel put the athletes through a series of speed & agility drills that helped show things like lateral movement, acceleration, and burst to name a few. Following that portion of the workout, players moved inside and hit the weights to complete their workout. Here’s who stood out!

QB: [player_tooltip player_id="20861" first="Nathan" last="Hayes"], St. Charles East, JR
Hayes was overall the best prospect in attendance. He’s every bit of 6’4 and moves surprisingly well for a guy his size. He’s got long strides and deceptive wheels. By this time next year, he’ll have multiple FBS offers and will be one of the state’s most talked-about quarterback prospects.
DB: Jordan Nubin, St. Charles North, SR
The younger brother of Minnesota defensive back Tyler Nubin was impressive throughout the workout. This kid has great change of direction, can stick his foot in the ground and get out of breaks, but also overall tremendous burst. Look for him to have a monster senior season.

LB: Zach McClure, St. Charles North, SR
I saw this kid at the Boom camp on Sunday and immediately looked at my sheet to see who he was. This guy has a phenomenal frame and already looks like a college linebacker. He can stop on a dime and accelerate with relative ease. He could develop into a 3-4 stand-up defensive end at the next level.
DB: Jack Scales, Marmion, SR
This guy just came on my radar of late and on tape had a really solid junior season. The kids got great ball skills and anticipation. During the speed and agility portion, scales had a smooth pedal and great acceleration. If you’re looking for a ballhawk at the safety position look no further!
DL: [player_tooltip player_id="20368" first="Carmine" last="Bastone"], St. Charles North, SR
This kid is an absolute freak. His first step is so quick, he’s got natural build-up speed you don’t normally see in a big guy & pure raw strength. After talking to Bryce Biel, I found out Carmine already puts up 315 on the bench press and over 500 on squat. It’s astonishing to me that he hasn’t picked up a single offer from a scholarship FCS program.

WR: Dane Pardridge, Marmion, JR
A few words I’d use to describe Dane are quick, explosive, and shifty. This kid was spectacular for Marmion as a sophomore and showed he’s one of the state’s most talented wideouts in the 2022 class. He doesn’t have any offers yet, but he did inform me he recently heard from TCU. He was sharp all workout and showed great body control.
[player_tooltip player_id="20904" first="Paolo" last="Gennarelli"], St. Charles North, JR
I think Paolo is going to be a really intriguing prospect to college coaches. He moves well at 6’3, 275, already squats over 500 pounds as only a junior, and plays with an absolute mean streak. He showed he’s got great body control for a big man and can accelerate up to the second level. He should be an FBS kid when it’s all said and done.

RB: Josh Bridges, St. Charles North, SR
When you watch Josh on tape you can clearly see the speed and acceleration. In-person, it was no different. This guy is a tailback who can do it all out of the backfield. His lateral movement & ability to stick his toe in the ground was sensational. I heard he had the fastest 40 yard dash time at the Boom Showcase and has even been clocked in the high 4.3’s. He’s definitely a kid whose senior tape I’ll be waiting on.

Other’s Who Impressed
QB: Padraig Fitzgerald, Marmion, SR
DE: Ethan Bridges, St. Charles North, SR
LB: John Pettit, Geneva, SR
WR: Anthony Kuceba, Marmion, JR
