With that said, we are going to take a look at the top skill position players from as many districts as possible in the state before fall camps begin.
Some of these players are already receiving college interest, while others are looking to catch the eye of that right coach.
Blake Holst – AHSTW
It was a solid season for AHSTW’s Blake Holst as a junior.
Holst threw for 1,065 yards, completing 94 of 183 passes with eight touchdowns. He also ran for 175 yards and scored five more times.
Holst averaged over 11 yards per completion and had a quarterback rating of just over 100.
Brogan Allensworth – Riverside
Six different Riverside players caught at least 10 passes last year, and four of them are set to return. Brogan Allensworth is the leader of the group after hauling in 31 balls for 580 yards.
Allensworth scored four times and averaged just under 19 yards per reception.
On defense, he had 13 tackles with two interceptions and a fumble recovery.
Tyler Hensley – Sidney
The bulk of the Sidney ground attack last year came from the legs of Tyler Hensley.
A Class of 2021 prospect, Hensley rushed 151 times for 758 yards, scoring eight times. He averaged five yards per carry on the year.
In the passing game, Hensley caught 14 balls for 136 yards with two more scores, averaging nearly 10 yards per reception. He also had 38.5 tackles on defense with three forced turnovers.
Blaine Venteicher – Southwest Valley
The Southwest Valley offense returns much of its 2019 production including top receiver Blaine Venteicher.
Venteicher, a senior, caught 15 passes for 267 yards with two touchdowns, including a 70-yarder. He posted almost 18 yards per reception.
In the run game, Venteicher ran for 269 more yards, averaging almost six per rush.
Connor Cerny – Council Bluffs St. Albert
In 2020, the Council Bluffs St. Albert offense will focus around Connor Cerny.
Last year, the Class of 2021 prospect ran for 443 yards with seven touchdowns while adding 12 receptions for 153 yards and a score.
Cerny averaged over six yards per rush and nearly 13 yards per reception. He was also in on 58 tackles.
Sam Rallis – Council Bluffs St. Albert
The playmaker in the Council Bluffs St. Albert offense is Class of 2021 wide receiver Sam Rallis.
As a junior, Rallis led the team with 241 yards, averaging 15 yards per reception and scoring two touchdowns.
He also made 30 tackles on defense, had an interception return for a touchdown and scored three return TDs. Rallis averaged 28.6 yards per kickoff return and 26.6 yards per punt return.
