We begin our county breakdowns with Atlantic County in southern New Jersey. This is a county full of talent all over the board with some of the top teams in the state. These teams thrive on both sides of the ball but we will be looking at the top offensive weapons in this piece.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="27919" first="Jaiden" last="Abrams"] (2021) | Hammonton</strong>
Abrams established his dominance right away as a junior. In game one, he ran for 193 yards and three touchdowns against Oakcrest. He would run for at least 100 yards in each of the first 11 games. Abrams scored three touchdowns five times and carried the ball 20 or more times in eight games. Hammonton will have their offensive leader back in 2020 which is huge for the offense.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="27984" first="Kanye" last="Udoh"] (2022) | St. Augustine</strong>
Udoh had a complete breakout campaign as a sophomore. He rushed for 100 yards five times including a monster 220-yard game against Cherokee. Udoh averaged 6.3 yards per carry. He is a runner with great vision and awareness. He uses his strong acceleration to hit the hole for big gains. Udoh is a big name to keep an eye on this season.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="27887" first="Jake" last="Ketschek"] (2021) | St. Augustine</strong>
Udoh is an effective runner because of his own ability and the strong line in front of him led by Ketschek. The Vanderbilt commit has all the tools to dominate as a senior. At 6’4, Ketschek is a strong pass blocker and thrives in the run game. He has quick feet and uses his strength to overpower rushers.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="27988" first="Elijah" last="Steward"] (2022) | Holy Spirit</strong>
Steward was one of the catalysts that made Holy Spirit’s offense so dangerous last season. He scored 10 of their 16 receiving touchdowns. Steward put up three scores against Kingsway. Steward is one of the top receivers in the class thanks to his reliable hands and elite route running.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="27946" first="Chase" last="Lomax"] (2021) | St. Joe’s (Hamm.)</strong>
Lomax is a 6’2, 220 pound weapon for St. Joe’s that excels on both sides of the ball. He plays defensive end on one side and guard on the other. As an offensive lineman, Lomax has the ability to gain an edge on pass rushers and give his quarterback some extra time. He is also strong in the run game opening holes for the ball carriers.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="27976" first="Nasir" last="Hill"] (2022) | St. Augustine </strong>
Hill is one of the top players in the Class of 2022. He is an athlete that is dominant on both sides of the ball. Offensively, he is a versatile player that can line up anywhere in a formation. As a sophomore, Hill finished with 243 rushing and 225 receiving yards with five total touchdowns.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="27903" first="Patrick" last="Smith"] (2021) | Holy Spirit</strong>
Holy Spirit liked to establish the run game in 2019 and Smith was the piece that made it happen. The junior finished with 1,338 yards and 19 touchdowns last season. He put up a monstrous 287-yard, six touchdown game in a late season win over Hudson Catholic. Smith is a bulldog. The Colorado State commit can carry the load for an offense and keep his motor running all game long.
