2022 Top Ranked IL Prospects

We continue to look at impact players, but within this article we are taking a look at three guys from the class of 2022 that look primed to have a big impact this season. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="20918" first="Sebastian" last="Cheeks"] (Evanston HS)- </strong>Good height and weight, trim, proportioned with definition. A very athletic LB who can play on the edge or inside. Shows very good anticipation and foot quickness in the run game, to both shoot gaps and also get to the numbers. He shows knock back tackling ability, and will wrap on contact. In the passing game, has the ability to play both Zone and Man. Good lateral movements and hips, opens and drops with ease in Zone. Very disruptive in throwing lanes and has good ball skills in order to turn the ball over. He possesses the athletic traits in order to be effective in Man, will be able to match up with TEs in the slot, and be disruptive at the catch point. Overall, a very good player, who will be an impact player at the next level. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="20879" first="Reggie" last="Fleurima"] (Naperville Central HS)- </strong>Good height and weight, trim, basketball build, proportioned with some definition. He shows the ability to play both as a Z or in-line as a TE. Gets off Press at the numbers, with initial foot quickness and accleration to get on top of CB. Possesses solid long speed to stay on top. Vs. Off, good acceleration off LOS, combined with COD to quickly settle, and find the hole underneath the coverage. Good blocking ability both when in-line or at the numbers, aggressive, and shows good leg drive. Overall, he is a prospect that can go one of two ways, he can keep adding weight and develop into a TE or maintain size, and continue to add muscle and stay as a Z. Either way he will be an impact player at the next level. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="20888" first="James" last="Kyle"] (Loyola Academy)- </strong>Good height and weight, buff, basketball build, proportioned with definition. A versatile TE who can play in-line or split out in the slot. Shows good play strength at the POA in the run game, and will drive legs. He’s a people mover, who has the ability to overpower defenders both on the edge or when asked to get up to the second level. Solid foot quickness within the passing game, knows how to get open, and will be a consistent underneath option for an offense. Showed the ability to work the seam when working out of the slot. Good hands, strong, and can maintain possession through contact. Overall, a very good TE prospect who can do a lot of different things for an offense, and has the potential to be a special player at the next level.
