Analysis: The West Bloomfield offense will be in the hands of senior quarterback [player_tooltip player_id="29685" first="Alex" last="Short"] who could end up being one of the biggest risers in the 2021 class now that he has his chance to shine. He will be joined in the backfield by running backs [player_tooltip player_id="29537" first="Donovan" last="Edwards"] (2021), [player_tooltip player_id="30133" first="Dillon" last="Tatum"] (2022) and [player_tooltip player_id="29750" first="Mekhi" last="Elam"] (2021) while sophomore [player_tooltip player_id="30318" first="Amir" last="Herring"] and junior [player_tooltip player_id="30221" first="DeAntwan" last="Franklin"] will be tasked with keeping them all protected. Junior linebacker [player_tooltip player_id="30135" first="Michael" last="Williams"] is the center piece on defense and 2021 defensive lineman [player_tooltip player_id="29622" first="Chris" last="Johnson"] and [player_tooltip player_id="30028" first="Jaden" last="Green"] round out the front seven. Defensive backs [player_tooltip player_id="29571" first="Maxwell" last="Hairston"] (2021), [player_tooltip player_id="29618" first="Gavin" last="Hardeman"] (2021) and [player_tooltip player_id="30177" first="Kyle" last="Johnson"] (2022) make up a solid secondary that could make a huge impact on the team’s success this season. With the talent they have across their roster, the Lakers should once again be competing into November.
