Analysis: The Technicians had a down year by their standards this past season, but the team brings back plenty of high level talent on both sides of the ball. The team will turn to 2023 signal callers [player_tooltip player_id="30338" first="Christian" last="Johnson"] and Leeshaun Mumpfield to take over under center. Regardless of which player wins the job, they will be protected by arguably the best offensive line in the state, which features highly rated players in [player_tooltip player_id="29544" first="Raheem" last="Anderson II"] (2021), [player_tooltip player_id="29555" first="Terrance" last="Enos Jr."] (2021), [player_tooltip player_id="29579" first="Charlie" last="Sims"] (2021), [player_tooltip player_id="30143" first="Jackson" last="Pruitt"] (2022) and [player_tooltip player_id="30153" first="Masai" last="Reddick"] (2022). Running backs [player_tooltip player_id="30166" first="Karriem" last="Sharrieff"] (2022) and [player_tooltip player_id="29746" first="Alvin" last="Hosendove Jr."] (2021) will see the bulk of the carries while sophomore receivers [player_tooltip player_id="30345" first="RaSean" last="Randall"] and [player_tooltip player_id="30329" first="Javen" last="Sewell"] should emerge as the go-to guys through the air. Defensively, Cass Tech is led by senior twins Kalen and [player_tooltip player_id="29549" first="Kobe" last="King"]. Seniors [player_tooltip player_id="29575" first="Clarence" last="Wilson Jr."], [player_tooltip player_id="29566" first="Doran" last="Ray Jr."] and [player_tooltip player_id="29683" first="Jarvis" last="Windom"] make up an elite defensive line and [player_tooltip player_id="29616" first="Jacob" last="Taylor"] (2021), [player_tooltip player_id="29969" first="Eric" last="McGee"] (2021) and [player_tooltip player_id="30164" first="Nate" last="Briggs"] (2022) are players to watch in the secondary. This team has even more talent that I couldn’t list, which shows that they should be recognized as a state title contending team for the 2020 season.
