Harder, a two-way starter for Sioux Central, racked up 264 carries and 1,180 yards for the Rebels, scoring 10 touchdowns.
“It’s all about hustle and determination at our school,” Harder said. “Our coach pounds hustle and determination into our heads.”
A workhorse through and through, Harder and the Rebels put together a 6-3 season that ended with a 16-7 win over Alta-Aurelia. In that game, he had 27 carries for 126 yards to help seal the victory.
“I wouldn’t rather play at any other school,” he said.
Harder also had 109 yards in a win over Manson Northwest Webster, ran for 151 with two scores as Sioux Central topped Ridge View and went for 185 yards and three TDs as they bested GTRA.
All of that, though, was just an appetizer to his 46-carry, 242-yard, 4-TD performance in a victory over St. Edmond.
“I got a membership at EnerGym in Storm Lake,” Harder said. “I want to get back with the team to start building up for my senior year.”
Harder, a starter at linebacker, made 68.5 tackles with 49 being solo stops and 7.5 tackles for loss.
“I haven’t made a decision on college yet,” he said. “I’ve been in contact with Dordt.”
Sioux Central has recorded three consecutive winning seasons, going 20-8 during that time.
