After an awesome 2019 Football season that showed us breakout players, highlights, and big time catches, 2020 has since had other plans due to Covid-19. The players on this list will have some house hold names and other you may want to become familiar with. Looking back on last season, these 5 guys laid there mark as the baddest, meanest defensive lineman in the state of Michigan regardless of class.

1. Damon Payne-2021 Belleville: Oh man on man does this kid live in opponents back fields, coming off a massive 2019 in which he was rated the top overall player in the state for the 2021 class, the 6'4 DT looks to make a name for himself around the country in 2020. Currently holds offers from multiple Division 1 schools such as: Alabama, Kentucky, and USC. After a painful loss to Brighton in the state semi finals last season, Belleville will lean on Payne to get them to the promise land.

2. Alex VanSumeren- 2022 Exsexville Garber: Alex came on strong for Garber last season a two way starter, mostly known as the young brother of Michigan fullback Ben VanSumern. Instead, Alex js making a name for himself with a bigger build than his brother that allows him to man handle opponents at the line of scrimmage. As a sophomore earned himself first team all state along with becoming the first to commit to Michigan's 2022 class. The Wolverines are lucky to grab this one so early, but they better hang on tight because things are starting to heat up for the in state Defensive Tackle.

3. Rocco Spindler-2021 Clarkston: Ok, this one may come as a surprise as Spindler is rated as the number one guard in the country, but hear me out. Already listed north of 300, Spindler has a Division 1 body and carries his weight well. Possessing good athleticism, leverage, and raw ability on the defensive line,Splindler could easily turn into one of the best defensive recruits in the country if he focused on that side of the ball. College Defensive coordinators would be smart to get this guy on campus and see what he can turn into.

4. Tyson Watson-2021 Warren Mott: This Michigan State football commit is looking to cap off a good junior year, with a monster senior campaign. The first thing you will notice about Watson on film is how long he is. In high school he has been able to use his size and length to disrupt opponents backfields, Michigan state is looking to use there reputation for developing raw athletic ends and turning them into spartan legends, will see if Watson is up for the task in the future.

5. Derrick Harmon-2021 Loyola: Another MSU commitment makes our list as the baddest Defensive lineman in the state of Michigan. Harmon is an absolute beast for Loyola to anchor that line. When watching Derrick come off the line, offensive lineman don't know what to do, he uses great leverage, peer strength, and sneaky quickness to catch his opponent off guard. Another big season for the 2021 DT and he may find himself moving up this list.
