When you look at the state of Illinois’ class of 2022 wide receiver group, you can’t help but come away impressed. To me, it’s the state’s deepest position group in all of the 2022 class. One name from that group who has blossomed into a star is Quentrell Harris Quentrell Harris 6'1" | 185 lbs | WR Nazareth | 2022 State IL of Lyons Township. On-film, Harris plucks the football out of the air and is more than capable of making contested catches. He is a burner with the ability to run by opposing team’s defensive backs. The Lyons junior to be is a major FBS prospect and has been garnering a lot of college attention, “So far my coach has talked to Northwestern,Indiana, NIU, Kansas State, Notre Dame, Toledo, Illinois, Syracuse, Michigan State, Iowa and Purdue.” He has yet to take any visits, but will once everything begins to open back up. He’s been hitting the weight room hard this off-season and has been training at Boom to compete with some of the best in the country. After a tremendous sophomore campaign, Harris is ready to get back out on the field with his teammates and prepare for the 2020 season, “I am looking forward to competing at a high level and building a brotherhood with my teammates. I am looking forward to everything we couldn’t do last year meshing together. I feel like we are all comfortable with our new coaches. And I feel like we all trust Coach Hartman.”
Despite his success, Lyons came up just short of making the playoffs in 2019, finishing with a 4-5 record. A brutal schedule and a few tight losses played a huge part in that. Last year didn’t sit too well with Quentrell, “It wasn’t the outcome we wanted, we fell short of making the playoffs. We just couldn’t finish a lot of games.” However, the Eagles have moved past their 2019 season and are eagerly awaiting this fall. Their 2020 squad returns a strong group of college-level prospects, including DB Michael Newson, QB Joey Antonietti, DB Jimmy Pouba & DB Rafeon Kloes, “We are looking good; we all have a chip on our shoulder due to coming up short last year, and we all are determined to get better.” Lyons could surprise a lot of people this fall, and a big part of that will be Harris. He has a very sound outlook on what he wants to do individually this season,
“I want to continue building and critiquing my craft while competing at a high level and leading my team to future success. Meanwhile, I hope also to earn All-Conference and All-State recognition while continuing to build relationships with college coaches.”
Harris is still awaiting his first offer, and it could come in the very near future. Currently, he sits as IL’s #5 overall wide receiver in the 2022 class, and I wouldn’t be shocked if he moved up even further. This is a gifted, three-sport athlete, with division one ability. I have a feeling we’re going to be hearing a lot about Quentrell Harris Quentrell Harris 6'1" | 185 lbs | WR Nazareth | 2022 State IL over the next two years.
