The University of Minnesota had their annual "Mega Camp" showcasing high school talent all over the country last Sunday. There were plenty of great players there, but I am going to showcase the players from Minnesota that really stood out.
TOP PERFORMERS
Detavius Frierson, LB, Park Center
Frierson is a very athletic linebacker in the class of 2020. He has been very under the radar after having a knee injury before his sophomore season, and his stock has been rising ever since. Detavius is currently about 6'3" 200 pounds, he has slimmed down a bit since the football season. He was the third leading scorer on Park Center's basketball team, and now is playing with one of the best AAU teams in the country Howard Pulley.
Sunday night, Frierson was getting reps at defensive end and linebacker. Even though you can clearly tell that he needs to add more strength, you can always see that the potential is there. I expect Frierson to have a monster senior season on the gridiron, and add to his only current offer from Norther Iowa.
Jalen Travis, OL, DeLaSalle
Travis was one of the most talked about players from the camp. With his monster 6'6" 285 pound frame, he has ideal size for the offensive line position. Although the 2020 offensive lineman is still a bit raw with his footwork and technique, he has college coaches across the country very intrigued by his potential.

Jalen is the brother of former Kentucky big man Reid Travis, and if he has the same work ethic as his brother, I could see him developing into one of the better players in the senior class from Minnesota.

Cody Lindenberg, LB, Anoka
Lindenberg was arguably the top performer at the entire event. The 2020 Gopher football commit measured in at 6'2" 205 pounds. He tested very well in the athletic portion of the event posting one of the fastest 40 times. Lastly the future Gopher showed his great potential in the on-field portion, PJ Fleck must be very excited that Lindenberg will be staying home.

Riley Mahlman, OL, Lakeville South
Mahlman is one of the most coveted players from Minnesota in the class of 2021. He is an absolute specimen standing 6'7" 270 pounds as a 16 year old. Mahlman already holds offers from half of the Big Ten and I expect that list to grow. The 4-star recruit showed that he will be the future of offensive linemen in the state of Minnesota. Now that former Minnesota greats Bryce Benhart and Quinn Carrol will be playing at Nebraska, and Notre Dame respectively next season.
NOTEWORTHY

Wyatt Schroeder, TE, Saint Francis
Schroeder is one of the more athletic offensive players in the class of 2020. He unfortunately tweaked his hamstring, and had to shut it down early in last night. Schroeder holds offers from Buffalo, Jacksonville State, North Dakota, Northern Iowa, and South Dakota State, with plenty more interest. He has the perfect frame for a big time tight end at 6'4" 225. If he performs as well as he can next year I expect all of Schroeder's interest to turn into more offers.
