I was elected captain for this upcoming year. Last year I started my season on the sideline, I got a chance, week four, to prove that I should be the QB, I then went on to throw for 1600yds, 18tds, 4int, 450, rushing yds, 4 rushing tds. Some highlights were taking down Apple Valley in the first round of state with a Hail Mary at halftime and also to win the game. I helped lead my team to US Bank Stadium and ended up losing to Elk River.”
Havelka is excited for his upcoming senior season.
“This off-season I've been lifting and running sprints to improve my speed,” Havelka said to Northstar Football. “To play at the next level I will need speed and strength. I'm not super fast so if I can change that I believe I can become a true duel threat quarterback. I've gone to a couple camps at SDSU, St. Cloud State, and MSU. I've worked with the St. Cloud state OC and QB coach to improve footwork and decision making at the next level. My personal goals for the season would be to set nearly every throwing record at my school and be an All-State quarterback. As a team, my goal is to lead my team to a state championship. We are ranked one in the state for 5A and we have the talent to win it all and bring Owatonna its second championship ever. Getting back to the bank and winning would be something I'll never forget.”
