I think when I'm at my best is when the game is on the line, and need a big play. That's when I feel like I shine the most. I'd also say that last season went well. As a team we made it to the section finals, but came up just short of state. We started out slow, but we finished the year very strong. The biggest highlight last year was coming back from a 20 point second deficit in the section semis, and also getting a homecoming win. I was awarded all conference, all district, and team offensive MVP.”
There is no such thing as the off-season for Jurek.
“As far as football goes, I will be lifting and conditioning 4 days a week and I also have basketball practices and tournaments as well,” Jurek explained. “My head coach (Coach Konold) runs a QB camp for Willmar quarterback's every Wednesday. There, we watch film and throw. I will also be attending NDSU camp with my team, and a few individual camps. The big one I plan on attending will be UND elite camp. I'm looking forward to improving on my overall game in general, I'm always learning and willing to be better at every aspect of my game.”
