Zack Helmreich Zack Helmreich 6'4" | 280 lbs | OL/DL Landon School | 2027 State MD earned All-IAC honors for the second straight season, continuing to establish himself as one of the conference’s most physical linemen. He plays with a true mean streak, consistently pancaking opponents in both the run and passing game.

Helmreich is aggressive at the point of attack and finishes blocks with power, setting the tone up front and wearing down defenders. His physicality, edge, and consistency make him a force in the trenches and a cornerstone piece of the offensive line.

Zack has been a key addition for Landon as he comes to them after being at St. Stephen St. Agnes (VA) last year. He is a big body OL prospect who could play OT or OG at the next level. You put on his tape and you notice right away he is a physical player with good strength. Zack was the IAC Heavyweight Wrestling Champion last year and that shows on the football field. He is able to get nice leverage at the LOS, getting into the defenders chest and driving. Zack plays with some good nastiness and aggression as well, burying defenders in the dirt and keeping them there. He also plays with active feet in both run and pass pro. He is able to pull and come with force and in pass pro shows a fluid kick step along with the ability to re-set after initial contact.

Like what I’ve seen so far in his game. Lots of potential still in him as he develops and gets stronger. Zack is also a High academic prospect who should be getting strong looks Patriot/IVY schools this year and into the summer. I believe he was a Top 100 player in his class for previous VA rankings and you can expect similar for him in the upcoming MD/DC/DE 2027 end of year rankings update.

Ranking Zack as a Linebacker was an oversight by us. In our fall update, he will be in the Offensive Line rankings. As a sophomore, he was the varsity Right Tackle, and he has a good foundation for his game to develop. He has the strength and foot quickness that shows in his tape alongside a very good competitiveness that you see play out through the whistle. He has very good block sustain in both Run blocking and Pass Protection with good recovery and refit after initial contact. His anchor ability stands out versus the bull rush with good lower body strength to halt the rush. He has solid use of hands with flashes of very good reps when it comes to hand placement and explosiveness. I am intrigued to see his development on the field this fall. He is a name to watch as a possible stock riser in next year’s update.
