Watson is one of the biggest difference-makers in Section IV, and the UConn commit has had no shortage of opportunities to play Division I football at the next level.

Last year, Watson was part of a 1-2 punch at WR, but this season, he is Waverly’s main offensive target through the air. Waston will be transitioning to TE at the next level but plays more of an outside WR role at Waverly. Watson has the speed to win on the outside against the competition Waverly faces, and he showcases the ability to break tackles after the catch and win at the catch point with strength and strong hands.

Watson after a really strong spring which saw him pick up over 10 division 1 offers commits to UConn after an official visit this past weekend. Watson is one of the best playmakers at the WR position and has the size to play a Flex TE position as well. Perhaps a similar position to former UConn and Iona Prep WR/TE Justin Joly.

Xavier Watson Xavier Watson 6'4" | 210 lbs | TE/WR Waverly | 2025 State NY continues to be one of the most recruited offensive weapons in the state and Watson picked up yet another division one offer from Colgate nearly every time we post another recruiting update with Watson included he picks up another offer and ends up in nearly all these reports at this point. Watson has a good mix of FBS and FCS offers and I think will continue to grow as a prospect.
