is an outstanding linebacker from Dunmore. He is a playmaker who reads his keys well and then attacks offenses at a high clip. He had two interceptions that he returned for touchdowns. Both plays, he showed anticipation, read the play, and made the game-changing plays. He is excellent as an inside-the-box linebacker. He makes plenty of tackles in or near the line of scrimmage. He is also a good edge rusher, in a few clips I saw. Burke is a talented linebacker who is a good athlete. He has a good ability to make plays all over the field.
Updated measurables, 6’1, 200 pounds. Was named to several post-season all-star/all-team lists. Was previously ranked 14 spots outside of the Top 100, the Dunmore linebacker climbs into the top 100 for a second time.
Has a ten-minute sophomore tape posted on Hudl currently. Received an FCS-ceiling grade out of me post-watch. Said tape starts off with some reps at back, reps that showcase Burke’s multi-dimensional skillset as well as his overall toughest. Fantastic feel for run sets, his first step toward the flow of traffic often has Burke at the right place at the right time, usually meeting backs behind the LOS. Great open-field tackler, great 1v1 tackler between the tackles too. A relentless motor attached to a young man who moves with a ton of inertia behind him. Raised on our ranks due to great production, yet I’m aware that he’s going to have to show more than run stuffs to maintain a Division One grade in the future. That being said, this is fantastic linebacker tape out of a true sophomore.
Will provide a deeper eval at a later time. His production as a freshman initially caught my eye, along with his stature at an early point in Dunmore career (6’1, 195). All of this being said, Burke’s closing speed after diagnosing the play is what got him ranked on our site. Kid can identify on the fly, shed, and close the gap like some special upperclassmen I cover. Great start.
