Making the transfer over to the Mavs for his senior season, James looked to step into the #1 role and shine and that’s exactly what this East TN wideout has done thus far. What James has brought to the Anderson Co. offense has been speed and playmaking abilities that have been used in multiple ways. This guy is a perfect option for the slot as yes he is a tad undersized but because of his speed and quick feet, James can be a mismatch problem for bigger defenders. He is shifty in short spaces with quick feet and a strong lower base, so tacklers have a hard time bottling him up. This East TN talent can also be dangerous in the return game where his running abilities can be difficult to deal with. He has 823 yards with 6 games played, averaging about 137 yards per game. Great playmaking ability with the ball in his hands with excellent quickness and elusiveness in space. Good vertical speed, he showcases great tempo variation when route running with nice ball skills and tracking down the field.
