is a player who has been on my radar for a while now and has continued to impress as a senior. He lines up at defensive end where he is a very effective pass rusher. Contreras explodes out of his stance with a quick first step and is able to use his speed to blow by opposing offensive tackles on his way to the quarterback. Through his first six games, Contreras has recorded five sacks. He has also accounted for 31 tackles and seven tackles for loss so far this season. Xander currently holds offers from Memphis, Capital, Eureka, and Bethel (OK), and I expect more to come his way this season.

is a player who has been making a name for himself over the past couple seasons. Contreras lines up at defensive end where he is at his best against the run. He does a great job of using his strength and length to stack/shed blocks effectively once he sees where the ball is going. Once he gets to the ball carrier, Xander has proven to be a very reliable tackler in the open field, finishing his junior year with 72 tackles and one tackle for loss. He has also shown the ability to bull rush straight through opposing offensive linemen as a pass rusher to put pressure on the quarterback. Contreras currently holds an offer from Memphis and I expect more to come his way this season.

is another edge defender who continued to stand out as a junior. He was very impressive against the run, finishing the year with 72 tackles and one tackle for loss in 11 games. Xander does a great job of using his strength to fight blocks with ease on his way to the ball carrier. Once he gets to the ball carrier, he runs his feet through contact to secure the tackle and not allow any extra yards to be gained. Contreras currently holds an offer from Memphis and I can see more coming his way as he has received a strong amount of college interest.

is a player who jumped onto our radar with a strong junior year. Contreras is at his best when defending the run. He does a great job of using his strength to stack and shed blocks quickly when he locates the ball carrier. After he sheds the block, he has shown the speed to get to the ball carrier in a hurry to make the tackle in the open field. Contreras finished this past season with 72 tackles and one tackle for loss in 11 games. Xander currently holds an offer from Memphis and I wouldn’t be surprised to see more come his way heading into this upcoming season.

Xander Contreas is a lengthy and agile edge rusher from Glasgow High School. His size and arm length enable him to excel on the edge, but he can also shift to the inside to exploit mismatches against interior offensive linemen if needed. After a standout 2024 season, where he led his team in solo tackles and earned a spot on the second team of the All-Sky Conference, Xander has caught the attention of scouts. His ability to combine length and explosive movement are critical factors that scouts look for in an edge rusher, making him one of the top prospects in the state.
