Edwards is the total package, he has excellent short area quickness, his ability to change direction in space is superb and he has an explosive burst to make a house call from anywhere or distance on the football field. Nicknamed the “X-Man”, Edwards plays the game as if he has super powers. He has a compact build with broad shoulders, he has a stout lower half and he has the frame to tote the load and be the factor back in any offense. During the agility portion of the showcase, Edwards was silky smooth weaving his way through the bag drills with ease, he makes his cuts without losing speed and he has the ability to shift gears quickly. In pass protection 1v1s versus the linebackers, he displayed clean footwork, he delivers a stiff, powerful punch, he has a strong base and he finished blocks with a purpose. Xai Shaun’s toolbox is full, he has an array of moves in the open field to make defenders miss, he runs crisp routes and he has the skill set to be a monster threat in the passing game. Edwards put on a show and finished number four overall in the Select 50 Rankings. Xai’Shaun is a wanted man, with nine offers from schools across the country that include, Oregon, Missouri, Texas Tech, Houston, Tulsa and UTSA. Look for that number to increase to double digits before the fall season.
