Stats: 2 Tackles, 2 INTs
Willem picked a fantastic time to grab his first two INTs of the season. The lockdown corner made both of his INTs in man coverage. Both situations he was giving a cushion to avoid creating traffic with his own DBs while covering trips. The senior showed off the quick feet in the backpedal and the ability to instantly flip his hips and run. From there the senior CB ran the route for the WR and high pointed the ball for the first INT. The second one came on a play where his man slipped. From there Willem was able to easily come downhill and jump the route. Check out the full tape to also see his dominant night on offense too!

Stock Rise: #199 to #122
Willem has put together a great summer attending camps. His performances helped him earn offers from River Falls, Sioux Falls, Southwest Minnesota State, and Dordt. The 6′ 170 lbs CB was an All State athlete as a junior and proved to have excellent athletic measurables to go with his production. The ’25 CB has experience and success in zone and man coverage. In zone he shows a good awareness of his area, who is entering it, and is able to quickly change direction to attack the ball. In man coverage, Willem flashes quick feet and hips to be able to stick to his man’s hip pocket through routes and shows great timing to break up passes without drawing flags. The senior also has good ball skills to create turnovers when he gets himself in that good positioning. Don’t sleep on one of the best uncommitted DBs in WI.

I have become a fan of Willem this offseason. His tape showed us an aggressive corner who could play man coverage and create pass breakups or turnovers downfield. At the Mega Camp he caught my eyes as I watched the DBs in drill work. The 6′ 168 lbs DB demonstrated a smooth hip flip in drills and quick feet transitioning out of his back pedal. Hoefler also grabbed my attention playing tight coverage in a one on one battle I caught. It is clear that Willem is best in short areas with his quickness, acceleration, and ability to change direction. His 35″ vertical and 9’10” broad jump also show the power behind his burst. The All State DB is still looking for that first offer. Get on him!
