Dobbins is one of the more fundamentally sound tacklers you’ll find in Alabama, settling down and mirroring ball carriers before striking with good pad level and wrapping up. He is fluid in his hips, which allows him to quickly adjust to the path of ball carriers and beat them to a spot. In zone coverage, he might not have high-level range, but he is fluid enough to snap from one receiver to another and take the appropriate angles to undercut the football. Dobbins fits the “really good football player” mold and has the chance to elevate his game if he can develop more speed. He might be able to find the field early at a small school thanks to his tackling prowess.
