Conover is more of a power rusher. He has a thicker build that presents itself more for a power rush and 2 gapping. He uses his length well in long arming and he has the lower body strength to drive blockers backwards. He plays with good pad level and his head up. As develops his pass rush ability it will add another level to his game.

Conover is a versatile defender who can line up at multiple spots and be effective. He’s got the range to drop back when needed, but he’s at his best creating pressure and disrupting plays in the backfield. He plays with effort, doesn’t give up on reps, and can find another way to get home when the first move doesn’t hit. If he keeps developing, he’s the kind of guy that could give offenses serious problems.

Conover was steady throughout the day and showed he can hold his own inside. He’s got fairly strong hands, wins head-to-head matchups, and knows how to disrupt the run game. He plays with aggression and doesn’t back down from contact. There’s a lot to like about how he handles himself in the trenches, and the effort never really dips.

Conover is an interesting player because he has potential in a few spots. I could even see him on the offensive side of the ball blocking and chipping at the TE spot. He’s got incredibly strong hands and can dominate at the point of attack. Once he latches onto a player, they don’t get away. He’s well-built and has the prototypical size for someone you want in the trenches. I came away impressed and think he has a very bright future.
