About Tyson

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

Fast, aggressive defender with strong instincts, quick reads, and a high motor who is consistently around the ball. I focus on being disruptive and finishing plays.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I’m a very happy and positive person, when things get tough I know it’s temporary and I keep pushing through with focus and a good outlook. My dad taught me when I was very young that I’m never alone, Christ is always with me and if I let him lead me when I’m not certain he will never fail me even when I don’t understand the path.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

My primary focus has been football and strength training. Outside of athletics, I am very close with my family, a dedicated student and I focus on maintaining strong academic performance while balancing my training and team commitments.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

Through football, I have developed leadership, discipline, accountability, and teamwork. Playing a physically and mentally demanding position has taught me how to stay focused, communicate with teammates, and push through adversity. As the 2025 Defensive Player of the Year, I take pride in being coachable and working hard every day to improve.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

One of the biggest challenges I’ve faced is balancing school, training, and recovery while continuing to improve as an athlete. I’ve learned how to manage my time, stay disciplined, and remain focused on long term goals.

What type of college are you looking for?

My goal is to contribute to a competitive football program while continuing to develop physically, mentally, and academically.
