Expert Analysis
Matt DeBary | Prep Redzone Scout
One of the more impressive prospects throughout the camp, Stephens is a productive back from Macon who made the trip up to Atlanta and really impressed the Prep Redzone scouts. He brings a physical 5-foot-8 180-pound frame with plenty of muscle. He also showed terrific footwork in drills and dependable hands out of the backfield. He was one of the more productive backs in Middle Georgia last season as he ran for just under 1,000 yards and nine touchdowns. He’s talented enough to play at the next level and could see some opportunities from some smaller schools this summer.

is a complete beast of a player and is a guy who is well put together physically, and it flows well with his style of play. He has a quick burst and a twitchy step during change of direction. He’s a talented back who will be someone to watch for this season.

impressed in each facet of camp on Saturday. He stood out during testing, Indy, and competition, and coupled all of that with winning the fastest man competition at camp. Stephens is a grown man. He is listed at 5’7 170 with a low center of gravity and muscled-up physique. When he planted his foot and changed direction, he threw up some turf. His blend of speed and twitch made him a tough guard for LBs.

Read EvaluationMatt DeBary | Prep Redzone Scout
One of the biggest sleeper running backs in Middle Georgia, Stephens is a productive back with quickness, agility, vision, and big-play ability. He’s a natural runner with a muscular frame who does a good job of eluding defenders down the field. He’s one of the top returning running backs in Macon who ran for an impressive 967 yards and nine touchdowns last year for Stratford Academy. He averaged over 7 yards per attempt and hit the 100-yard mark five times as a junior last fall. Look for him to be even better as a senior next season.
