Call me a Day 1 Tyler fan as I saw him live & in practice way back in last Oct. when he was at Mount St. Joseph and was immediately impressed with his play. He transferred to SJC this off-season to be closer to his family, and I expect him slid right in as a top DB for St. Johns.
The game I got to watch him at was against Good Counsel and Tyler was matched up against FSU commit Elijah Moore majority of the game and he pretty much locked him down. He even had a INT that came while in man coverage with him. He’s very smooth in his movements and sound in his technique. Physical corner as well, does not shy away from tackling and will come up and stick his helmet in the run game. Tyler consistently showed the ability to play press or off coverage, tracks the ball well, and stays in phase with the WR. He is always around the ball, getting his hands in play for lots of PBUs. TSB is capable of playing out wide or in the slot, but I like him as a true man cover corner.
Colleges are finally starting to take notice of his game and I say it’s about time. Tyler picked up 3 D1 offers this summer and 2 from SEC schools, I expect him to be a double digit offer player after this season and stay as one of the top players in the area.
