Benjamin comes from Rochester Prep, where he played the QB position, and while he will play QB again for East, he is more of a big athlete who, at the next level, could live at LB or even RB/H-Back/TE. Benjamin has some burst and explosiveness as he moves. While he won’t bring the arm that Zymier Jackson had, Benjamin will offer the ability to run the QB downhill and between the tackles, while being able to keep defenses honest based on some of the quality throws he made last year on tape. Rochester Prep did not have much success as a program, but Benjamin put some solid stuff on tape as a Junior.

Benjamin will be entering into his senior season at East and is a tough QB to bring down. When playing the QB position, Benjamin stands strong in the pocket and delivers strikes to his intended targets. I was amazed by how quick Benjamin was able to get the ball out of his hands and the accuracy he was able to display consistently to his receivers on routes. Continuing to trust his eyes going through his full passing progressions, and staying balanced will be a key for Benjamin into this next season for him to take a major leap. When plays would break down, Tyler was able to get out on the run and deliver moves on defenders, including a mean stiff arm. Keeping plays alive is a strong trait for this young QB, and it will be exciting to see what he can do next.
