P4 teams inquired as his historic season rolled on, but his LOI ultimately landed in Statesboro. Cummings is a tightly wound, explosive back with a sub-10.9 100M time. He possesses the short-area twitch to create his own yards and the breakaway speed to rattle off long runs. Just a massive win for Georgia Southern here.

Cummings was a force last week against Oconee County. He finished the game averaging over 7 yards per carry and had a touchdown on an average of every five touches. He is one of the better players on this team, and is a weapon that many will have to prove that they can stop. If he is reliable in the way that many believe he is and the way that he has shown he is, then he will be the impact player of a possible win for the West Lauren Raiders.

You can’t mention the best performances this Week without mentioning Cummings. The Georgia Southern commit rushed a State record 615 yards on just 19 carries and scored 8 TDs in a 70-55 win over Baldwin.

Fire up the tape, this kid is a baller. He is averaging close to 15 yards per carry on the season. Explosive speed with an unbelievable ability to change direction on contact. Several clips where he gets hit, spins, and comes out full speed. He plays with a lot of energy and passion.

Projection: Headed to Georgia Southern next Fall

Cummings holds FBS offers, but is still massively under the radar nationally. He rushed for over 1700 yards last fall and clocked 10.86 in the 100M this spring. He is listed around 5’8 180, and is built into that frame well. He combines his breakaway speed with efficient twitch, making him hard to corral in the short areas and impossible to catch when he opens up. Even with all of his tools, he is a vastly north-south runner and doesn’t waste time dancing in space. He makes his offensive linemen right and rides his blocks to the second level. Cummings has elite athletic traits and is patient/elusive enough to take efficient routes to the endzone. Cummings is committed to Georgia Southern, which looks like a massive steal.

One of the more productive backs across the state last season, Cummings ran wild for 1,765 yards and 18 touchdowns during his monster 2024 season, hitting the 100-yard mark eight times and averaging 9.5 yards per carry. He’s one of the fastest backs in South Georgia and decided to stay close to home, committing to Georgia Southern this week. The explosive back will likely light up the stat sheet once again at West Laurens this fall before having a big career in Statesboro.
