Expert Analysis
Sam Erman | Prep Redzone Scout
Woolever has been a key piece for the Caston defense since week 1 of his freshman year. He’s got a decent frame that can withstand the physicality of the trenches. He’s a solid athlete who can drop back into coverage. He’s got more expiericne in zone than man, but he’s had success in both. He’s played 20 games at the Varsity level and put up 133 tackles, 4 PBUs, and 3 fumble recoveries in those games. He’s productive and still getting better.

Woolever put together a fairly solid and overall good freshman campaign. He was a starter immediately and quickly became a lead guy for the defense. He’s well-built for his age and could continue to develop physically, which you want to see. His 70 solo tackles, 1 pass deflected, and forced fumble were all the beginning for this young man

Woolever is a fairly impressive linebacker who is just getting started on Fridays, yet is already a team leader, all over the field, and showcasing as much potential as anyone we’ve come across yet. He’s got a nose for the football and is always one of the guys part of the play. He’s incredibly strong for his age and well built which helps in the trenches. His first week in Varsity was Week 1 where he only had 3 tackles. Since then, he’s had double digit tackles in a few games, never less than 7, and does a good job getting his arms up to bat down balls. With 39 solo tackles just a few games into his career is a very promising sign and it’ll be fun to watch Woolever over the next few years.
