, and the young man keeps delivering.
I’ve had the pleasure of being in attendance to watch Coon perform in two different camps this summer. In both of those camps, he was among the most consistent out of the group of young passers in each camp. Coon shows up and just works his tail off in everything you ask him to do. The MSSU coaching staff made every attendee do drills on both the offensive and defensive side of the ball and that seemed to be no problem for coon, as he put great numbers in the testing period, as well as the agility drills.
But when it was time to put a football in his hands and let it rip Coon stood out among the best. When coon gets his feet set and gets comfortable, he is a lot of fun to watch this young man go to work.

Coon mowed down defenses all weekend long.

was on fire this past weekend, he fits the ball in between some tight windows with a rocket for a right arm. He can put the ball wherever he wants to put the ball, his accuracy was so impressive to watch. The most impressive trait coon possesses in my opinion is his command of an offense. He’s a field general through and through, his interactions with his teammates were phenomenal, and he never put his players in a bad situation. He was a vocal leader in every single game I watched last weekend.

is a transfer from Missouri who brings good mechanics and footwork. Coon displays a quick zip on the ball, showcasing good ball placement with anticipation at all levels of the field. On top of his arm, he has the ability to hurt you on the ground. Good mobility from the pocket with awareness to tuck and run. Excited to see Coon play in 2024.

Similar to Whitaker, 2027 quarterback Tristin Coon came down from Ozark, Missouri and ended up being one of the better quarterbacks in attendance. We weren’t familiar with Coon’s game considering he’s from out of state but he certainly got our attention. More importantly, he got the attention of several coaches during the various drills and competitions. Coon was called up during the “Best On Best” competition at the end and performed well there and in all of the one on ones. Just a freshman, Coon has a lot of good football in front of him. He throws a good ball and on time. The one thing that stands out is that Coon might have been the smallest QB of this group but it never felt like he was “undersized” when you look at all the throws he was able to make.
