Expert Analysis

Skewes came up on my radar last season when he produced over 20 sacks as defensive end. As a full-time tackle, he brings a rare mixture of athleticism and power. Skewes led all offensive lineman in 40-yard time, shuttle, weight. T-1st with

in height and wing span. Very good quickness out of his stance. Very good lateral agility. At Skewes’s large size its tougher to get a pad level lower than the defensive end. That isn’t a problem for Tripp, as he uses that in combination with very good hand placement and elite hand placement. Elite strength as well. Locks up the defensive end, not letting them move from his grasp. I’m continued to be impressed with Skewes, and I see a ton of P4 offers in his future.

Skewes combined size, strength, and athleticism to dominate in the trenches. Whether moving defenders in the run game or neutralizing pass rushers with a quick, well-timed punch, Skewes demonstrated both technique and power. His agility during testing was impressive, as he moved like a skill player despite his size. In drill work, Skewes exhibited polished hand placement, strong footwork, and the ability to quickly adjust to various situations. A physical, versatile player, Skewes is set to be one of the most impactful linemen in the state this upcoming season and a player to monitor closely.

Skewes was a DL that led the state in sacks this past season and has some quickness at his size. He is good at being able to adapt and change up using speed or strength to beat his opponents. He is able to get separation and rip through, when opponents send double teams he is able to split the double and get into the backfield. He will be a top defender in 2A again this season and will be looking to build on his success from last season.
