Brooks plays LB/RB for Kent Denver and is a rising 2029 player. Measures in at 5’11 195-pounds. Last season, he had 64 total tackles (7 solo, 57 assisted), 3 TFL, 1 FF, 1 FR, with 8 carries for 34 yards and 1 touchdown. Brooks displays good athletic ability due to very good lateral quickness, change of direction, good acceleration, speed, and jumping. Very good read and reaction speed. Brooks is consistently where the action is. Uses his very good range to patrol the field and help assist teammates finish tackles. When he’s blitzing, he gets low and squeezes underneath the OL to get into the backfield. Good block shedding and get off speed to disengage from blocks. Brooks has good tackling ability as well and has solid pass coverage skills. I’m very intrigued to see how this sleeper ups him game during the off-season.
Brooks measures in at 5’11 195-pounds accounting for 64 total tackles (7 solo, 57 assisted), 3 TFL, 1 FF, 1 FR, 8 carries for 34 yards with one touchdown. Good athletic ability due to very good change of direction, lateral quickness, good speed, acceleration, and jumping. Very good range from sideline to sideline and into his pass responsibility. Brooks runs across the field to assist his teammates making the tackle. Good block shedding and get off speed. Good tackling. As a running back, he demonstrated good vision paired with very good inside running. Keep an eye on Brooks.
Brooks is already making an impact at the varsity level. Measuring in at 5’11 195-pounds, the LB/RB had 64 total tackles (7 solo, 57 assisted), 3 TFL, 1 FF, 1 FR, with 8 carries for 34 yards and 1 touchdown. Brooks has good athletic ability due to very good lateral quickness, change of direction, good acceleration, speed, and jumping. Good read and reaction speed paired with good range. Brooks is consistently helping his teammates finish tackles, and will run across the field to help them out. Good tackling. When he rushes the QB, he uses his good block shedding and get off to get underneath the OL’s pads and get the TFL. Look for him to continue growing and making big plays in his high school career.
Brooks gained valuable varsity experience as a freshman for a Kent Denver squad that reached the playoffs and he made the most of those opportunities. He closed the season with 64 total tackles, three tackles for loss, a caused fumble and a fumble recovery. Brooks plays with consistent effort and shows a willingness to attack the ball carrier. The experience gained this season should pay dividends as he heads into the offseason focused on development. With his early production and playoff exposure, Brooks is trending upward and shaping into a linebacker to keep an eye on moving forward.
