A dominant, explosive player in a small package, Trevyon Herron was one of the key pieces for Gladbrook-Reinbeck in their run to the UNI-Dome this last fall. A playmaker in every sense of the word, the 5-foot-8 and 160-pound ATH did it all for the Rebels — and he’ll more than likely do the same, or similar in 2026.
Finishing with the third-most touchdowns and all-purpose yards amongst juniors last season in 8-Man, Herron served as a receiver, returner and running back for GR. A prospect that could take a run that looked like a short gain and, somehow, escape from the masses of bodies on the interior and break off a big run for a touchdown — and do the same on a screen pass — Herron was a threat to score every time he touched the ball during his junior campaign.
Finishing the year with 100 carries for 1,278 yards and 26 touchdowns, plus 19 catches for 264 yards and five scores as a receiver. Oh, and he finished the season as the team’s leading tackler. Grabbing 83.5 tackles, plus 15 tackles-for-loss (TFLs), 4.5 sacks, forcing four fumbles, recovering three (and returning one those for a touchdown) and grabbing four interceptions (three of which were returned for touchdowns), Herron was one of the more impactful players in the state on both sides of the ball.

will have a big duty ahead of him as he may be getting the brunt of plays designed around him with his starting QB graduating following the 2025 season. Herron excelled in 2025, rushing for 1278 yards (12.8 YPC) and 26 rushing TDs while adding 19 receptions for 264 yards and 5 TDs. Herron added 83.5 tackles, 15 TFLs, 4.5 sacks, 4 forced fumbles, 3 fumble recoveries, 4 INTs, and 4 defensive TDs. Whenever the ball was even near Herron’s vicinity, there was a risk of him taking it all the way to the house, whether through the defense, or by making a spectacular defensive play. Herron will see a lot more reps heading his way in 2026 with the potential shift in the passing game, but considering how well he did with the reps he got on offense, a heavier workload should be no problem for Herron.

is part of the two-man show Gladbrook-Reinbeck has put on all year.
Posting nothing but double-digit wins all year, Herron has led from the front with Clark, as he has taken 75 carries for 1,062 yards and 22 touchdowns offensively to compliment Clark’s outlandish receiving numbers. As a pass-catcher, Herron is second on the team in receiving, grabbing 13 catches for 208 yards and three scores.
On defense, Herron has posted 61 tackles, including 13.5 TFLs and 3.5 sacks. He’s also been a turnover machine, forcing four fumbles and recovering three, and grabbing three interceptions, including two pick-sixes.

made a spectacular statement as a freshman playing at outside CB. Herron has already shown to be an impressive athlete, posting a 4.7 40 yard time and a 345 lb max squat for his age, Herron should continue to grow greatly over the next 3 years. Herron shows great ball skills and timing on his jumps to make interceptions. Herron is also a physical tackler, who plays with a quick twitch and attacks running angles well to make the stop. Herron should surge by the end of the season toward the top of the Iowa rankings by the end of the season with how quickly he is progressing.
